With many of the same efficient features and some that are new to the company’s line of vacuums, the RoboVac 30 is Eufy’s latest and greatest robot vacuum. It produces suction at a never-seen-before level, and Eufy added residue-free boundary strips that can be repositioned in a matter of moments.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30 Robot Vacuum Review

Of course, the Eufy RoboVac 30 retains the high-quality features and functions that make Eufy such a popular vacuum brand. The extra-strong suction lasts for over an hour thanks to the inclusion of an indicator-equipped lithium-ion battery. Even when the robot gives itself a suction boost, it stays quiet.

It also boasts a durable brush roll and side brushes that sweep and collect debris. You can control how the Eufy RoboVac 30 cleans by selecting the pattern of your choice with the remote or set it to a timed automatic mode.

As the robotic vacuum uses its sensors to drive away from ledges and objects, the heavy-duty wheels and one rotating caster allow it to roll smoothly from carpet to bare floors and back again. Since the Eufy RoboVac 30 is slim, it can easily fit under all kinds of furniture.

How does it perform in terms of filtration and debris collection? Inside of the large-capacity dirt box, there are three filters, one of which is designed to capture small particles. The box is easy to remove and empty, requiring a single to release it. Here’s what you get when you buy the Eufy RoboVac 30.

Upgraded Features

The suction this robotic vacuum produces is more powerful than its predecessor. In comparison, the RoboVac 30 generates 1,500 pascals of suction, which is 200 additional pascals than Eufy’s previous robotic vacuum cleaner. Therefore, lifting heavy debris is light work for this robot vacuum – Even pet kibbles don’t stand a chance.

Another unique feature offered by the Eufy 30 is its boundary strips. At 13 feet long, you have plenty of tape with which to work. However, the high number of feet isn’t the only noteworthy aspect of the strips. Unlike other boundary tapes, these strips don’t leave a trail of sticky residue, and you can reuse the same strip repeatedly.

Lithium-Ion Power

Steady suction doesn’t mean much if it isn’t long-lasting. With this robotic vacuum, you get a battery that gives both. Within the robot, there is a rechargeable 14.4-volt 2,600 mAh lithium-ion battery. A battery with this capacity can keep the robot vacuum moving and suctioning for 100 minutes.

To recharge the battery as quickly as possible, Eufy paired the RoboVac 30 with a super-efficient charging dock. When the battery level becomes low, the RoboVac 30 is programmed to roll onto the dock and recharge, which takes anywhere from 5 to 6 hours – a decent battery-replenish time. If you want to check the battery’s progress, just glance at the LED indicator signals on the dock.

Quiet Strength

One of the most exciting features on the RoboVac 30 is a piece of technology called BoostIQ. This technology was developed by Eufy, and it’s currently in its second generation of production. In comparison to the first generation of BoostIQ, the second gen increases the suction without human interference whenever the robot detects a carpeted floor.

However, the sound isn’t amped-up when BoostIQ is engaged. You’ll actually find the robot vacuum cleaner to be relatively quiet. The sound it produces is equivalent to the noise made by a microwave or dishwasher, both of which hover around 58 to 60 decibels.

All Your Floors Vacuumed

On top of the robot’s suction prowess, the RoboVac 30 uses two types of brushes to clean your bare floors and carpet. The brush roll is a spinning bar affixed with bristles that are aligned in a double-helix pattern, which extends the brushroll’s reach far enough to clean carpeting with medium pile.

The side brushes’ purpose is two-fold. These two propeller-style brushes revolve rapidly to pull dirt toward the vacuum’s suction inlet. Plus, they help the robot tackle dusty baseboards. Since the side brushes on robotic vacuum cleaners wear out around the 6-month mark, Eufy threw in a replacement pair.

Like any other vacuum cleaner brush, hair is bound to become wound around the bristles from time to time. If you use the included cleaning tool, it won’t take long for you to remove stuck hair and thread. Additionally, this tool comes in handy for wiping away dust from the robot’s sensors and charging pins.

Remote Controlled Convenience

This robotic vacuum comes with a digital remote control. The controller has a wide display, so you don’t have to squint to read the time or check the settings. With this remote, you can choose from among four cleaning modes – edge, single-room, spot, and auto. When set to edge mode, the robot travels the perimeter of a room, collecting debris in corners and along walls.

Single-room is another mode. Great for making a room company-ready, single-room mode tells the robot to vacuum one area that you enclose by shutting doors or laying down boundary strips. There is also spot mode, which turns the robotvac in tight circles to clean a small mess.

The last mode is one that runs automatically. To engage this mode, turn on the robot from the remote or the power button on the robot. If you opt to set a daily schedule, you can make vacuuming a hands-free, no-hassle chore. Alternatively, you can take the opposite approach and guide it turn by turn via the remote control’s arrow buttons.

Can a Robot Vacuum Replace a Normal Vacuum?

Flawless Floor Transitions

Rugged is the perfect word to describe the two wheels on the RoboVac 30. Complete with tread, this pair of wheels can traverse up inclines at a maximum slope of 0.63 inches. This means the robot won’t get stuck when it rolls onto carpeting. Plus, there is one caster to ensure the robot can make on-point turns when it needs to change directions.

In the early days of robotic vacuuming technology, robots had a terrible tendency to tumble down stairs and graze furniture. Today’s robot vacuums are equipped with sensors that make sure the vacuums avoid falls and obstacles. For the Eufy RoboVac 30, Eufy chose to use tried-and-true infrared sensors.

A Thin Profile

The thinner a robotic vacuum cleaner, the more under-furniture space it can clean. At the least, you want a robot vacuum that’s 3 inches. As usual, Eufy exceeds minimum standards by reducing the height of the RoboVac 3.0 to a mere 2.85 inches. Thanks to a 12.8-inch diameter, the robot can also zoom in between chairs with ease.

The robot is afforded extra protection from damage caused by accidental collisions. It’s surrounded by a bumper, which is thick and impact-resistant. However, the overall design of the robot vacuum is handsome, not clunky. The tempered-glass cover gives the robot a hint of gloss while the matte black portion is lined with ultra-thin pinstripes.

Triple the Filtration

Most robot vacuums have only one filter but not the RoboVac 30. Instead of a single filter, the robot vac contains two filters. One is a high-performance filter, which captures minute particles. The other filter has a foam layer on top of a pre-filter. With the addition of an extra set of filters, you can put a little bit of money back in your pocket during the first year of ownership.

Particles that are too large to be trapped by the filter go into the dust box. This box can hold 0.6 liters of debris, which is more than the average for a robotic vacuum. It’s easy to remove and empty too. Just push the release button, and the box pops out of the vacuum cleaner’s side.

A Robotic Vacuum That Exceeds Basic Standards

When it comes to the efficient cleaning and the type of flooring, budget-friendly robotic vacuums are limited to bare floors and low-pile carpet. However, the Eufy RoboVac 30 is an exception with its ability to vacuum medium-pile carpet, using low-noise BoostIQ technology and a brushroll to get the job done. Two side brushes, as opposed to one, create a wide cleaning path, reducing the time it takes for the robot to complete a cycle.

At the heart of this vacuum, there is a lithium-ion battery with outstanding longevity. The ability of the robot to self-dock means you won’t come home to a dirty floor and a dead vacuum. A pair of heavy-duty wheels and a short profile allow the robotic vacuum to reach underneath your furniture.

Then, there is the remote. Nothing touches the convenience of handling housework from the comfort of your couch. This controller offers several modes from edge to auto, and you can lay down boundary strips to take advantage of single-room mode. The timer fully automates the vacuum’s work, and three filters mean your family will breathe cleaner air. You’ll also appreciate how the sizable dirt box won’t have you dumping debris multiple times per day. A premium robotic vacuum at a fraction of the price – the Eufy RoboVac 30.
