Cleaning used to be seen as an ordeal, and certainly not a chore that one would look forward to doing. However, smart minds coming up with inventions and innovations on systems and tools for cleaning have caused a shift in this perception.
People still regard cleaning as an undesirable chore, but it is no longer as distasteful as before. With these tools and systems, now mostly mechanized and automated, cleaning has become much easier, faster, and as a result, more tolerable.
Introducing Robotic Vacuums from ILIFE
Autonomous or robot vacuums, as they are more popularly known, have changed the game in terms of cleaning using a vacuum cleaner. Our ancestors probably wished they had a cleaning tool that they can use with the least amount of effort. Well, the robot vacuum cleaner takes this to another level because they help you clean with no effort at all!
These cleaning machines move autonomously, able to navigate even around furniture, collect dirt and dust along the way by sucking and storing it is a dustbin to be emptied later on.
Why Robotic Vacuum Cleaners Stand Out
Vacuum cleaners, in general, make cleaning much easier. Introducing a robotic version makes it even more practical. An added plus is how you can set it to clean even when you are not home.
Robotic vacuum cleaners make the cleaning process effortless while saving you a lot more time than when you are using any other type of vacuum cleaner. Since they are made to have higher sensitivity to dirt, they are more effective in cleaning.
The portable design of these robotic vacuum cleaners also guarantees that areas unreachable by large and bulky vacuum cleaners, such as narrow corners and even under tables and couches are cleaned. Often, these versions also come with additional and more advanced features, increasing their versatility in handling different types of surfaces and terrains.
One special benefit is that their autonomous nature makes them ideal for use by people with mobility issues and other disabilities. They require minimal effort when operating, and minimal effort to maintain. They also don’t take up a lot of space when in storage.
However, robotic vacuum cleaners are not without their setbacks, and if there is one thing that stops many people from getting one, it is the steep price tag that they usually come with.
However, with the right amount of research and a little dedication on your part to study the brands and models that are currently out in the market right now, you are bound to find a robot vacuum cleaner that will fit your lifestyle, your needs, and more importantly, your budget.

Noisz by ILIFE S5 Robot Vacuum
When it comes to robotic vacuum cleaners, the Noisz by ILIFE S5 is one of the most budget-friendly models available. As such, it’s missing a lot of premium features that you’d find in many mid-range to high-end models, including auto-resume. That said, with a 2400-mAh battery that supplies 100 continuous minutes of cleaning power, a lack of auto-resume is hardly an issue.
In terms of cleaning performance, this low-cost robotic vacuum cleaner lives up to the hype. With 2000 Pa of suction power on its highest setting, this robot picks up and removes tiny debris from low-pile carpets in just one or two passes. Most customers praise the S5 for its Virtual Barriers, two tower-like devices that create no-pass borders. This is something you’d typically not get in a robot at this price bracket.
While the Noisz by ILIFE S5 doesn’t come with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity, customers will receive a remote control. With it, you can set up cleaning schedules, scroll between cleaning modes, as well as manually steer the robot for spot-cleaning purposes.

ILIFE V80 Max Robot Vacuum
The ILIFE V80 is a mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner that uses smart Gyro navigation to intelligently identify cliffs, obstacles, and anything in between. It delivers up to 2000 Pa of suction power that removes embedded dirt and debris from low-pile carpets in just a few passes, ensuring cleaner floors in less time. The large 750-mL dustbin makes the V80 convenient by reducing the frequency at which you need to empty the bin.
One of the more astounding features of the V80 is the floating, anti-tangle brush roll. It sits in a “suspended” mechanism, allowing the brush to adjust its position relative to the contour of your floors and carpets. It also comes with a remote control and batteries.
The V80 is compatible with the ILIFERobot app, which lets you control suction power (1-100), set up cleaning schedules, and send the robot back to its dock to recharge. There’s no auto-resume function, so every time you instruct it to clean, it’ll begin its cycle from the beginning.

Every speck of dust gets stored inside of a massive 700-mL dustbin for infrequent emptying out.
The V9e can run for 110 minutes per charge before refueling at its charging dock. Sadly, this model also doesn’t come with an auto-resume function, so it restarts its cleaning cycle every time you command it to clean.

ILIFE Buying Guide
Out of the many cleaning innovations, the vacuum cleaner is undoubtedly one of the more ground-breaking ones. This enhanced sweeper, with the use of a vacuum pump, quickly and systematically sucks up dust and dirt from surfaces that need to be cleaned and collects it in a container for disposal later.
Brief History of the Vacuum Cleaner
The earliest record of a vacuum cleaner is a manually-operated carpet sweeper, developed sometime in the 1860s by an Iowan, Daniel Hess. This model had a rotating brush, with suction generated by bellows integrated into it.
It wasn’t until close to the end of the 1900s that motorized versions of his carpet sweeper were developed. Hubert Cecil Booth invented a cleaner with more powerful suction in 1901, and there were speculations that he was the come who came up with the name “vacuum cleaner”.
The principle is straightforward and pretty simple, but the mechanism sure isn’t. Over the years, the initial design has evolved, coming with more bells and whistles, but staying faithful to its original purpose. However, during those early years, utilization was limited to industrial applications, not really much in households.
In 1905, the first domestic vacuum cleaner hit the market. Walter Griffiths designed it to be portable and easily operated by anyone. Portability sure was a major factor that time, so it came as no surprise when the first portable electric vacuum cleaner was developed, not surprisingly, by a janitor in a department store, James Murray Spangler.
He later sold his patent to William Henry Hoover (of the future Hoover Company), who tweaked the design and began its mass production. Thus, Hoover Company’s Model O was first sold in 1908 and officially became the first domestic vacuum cleaner.
However, the road of the vacuum cleaner to ordinary middle-class households was long and hard. The first vacuum cleaners were considered a luxury, only afforded by the wealthy, who are looking for tools that their servants can use to clean their massive houses and estates. It wasn’t until after the end of World War II that these vacuum cleaners found their way to middle-class homes.
From that point on, technologies specifically for the vacuum cleaner have been developed and improved on continuously, until we have arrived at the age of the robotic vacuum cleaner in the 1990s.
Main Types of Vacuum Cleaners
There are over a dozen types of vacuum cleaners, but to simplify things, we can categorize them into 5 main types.
1. Handheld vacuum cleaners are the smaller units that can be held in only one hand, which is why they are ideal for vacuuming cars and other hard-to-reach areas.
2. Canister vacuum cleaners are units comprised of a canister attached to a long wand. Compared to the handheld models, they are more powerful but still offer a degree of portability.
3. Upright vacuum cleaners are, as the name suggests, machines with an upright design, often used on both bare and carpeted floors. These models are the typical vacuum cleaner design that we all know.
4. Stick vacuum cleaners are preferred for cleaning tasks involving very narrow and cramped spaces since they are designed with a handle that resembles a stick. However, they also have the least vacuuming or suction power, and they also vacuum a very small area at a go.
5. Robot vacuum cleaners are autonomous units that pretty much act on their own, moving freely around the space, sucking dirt and dust. It’s like a vacuum cleaner with a mind of its own.
Seeing how ILIFE has more than one or two vacuum cleaner models in its product line, you can bet that other manufacturers also have extensive lines of products of their own. Now that tends to be quite mind-blowing, especially if you are on the market for a vacuum cleaner that is worth your money.
Here are a few tips that may help you when shopping for a robot vacuum cleaner.
Consider the cleaning you will do
What type of dirt do you usually find yourself having to deal with? Is it plain dust? Is there debris that you have to clean up every now and then? Are you stressing out over cat fur or dog hair all over your carpet? By knowing what type of dirt you are going to be cleaning, you will have an idea which robotic vacuum cleaner you should purchase.
In addition, you will also have to consider how much time you have on your hands to personally oversee the cleaning process. If you are extremely busy, then finding a vacuum cleaner with more advanced features makes sense.
Consider the area you will clean
More specifically, take a look at the floor area. There are, after all, vacuum cleaners that can only work within a certain area. If you have a wide room that needs regular cleaning, you most definitely should find one made for wide spaces.
If there are some obstacles that may hinder the navigation or movement of the cleaner, then find a compact unit that will have no trouble navigating its way around such obstacles.
In the event that you are buying a vacuum cleaner to get to hard-to-reach areas, and even underneath couches or seats, you should also find models capable of doing so. Obviously, the size or bulk and design of the vacuum cleaner will also come into play. The more compact it is, the more suitable it is for cleaning under furniture.
In the same vein, the surface should also be taken into account. Say, for example, that you have uneven floors or a slope. There are vacuum cleaners that can automatically detect changes in the surface or terrain and can adapt automatically and accordingly.
If you are going to clean mostly carpets or rugs, there are also vacuum cleaners that specialize on them. Of course, it would still be the best idea to find a vacuum cleaner that can clean more than one type of surface.
Consider the ease of operation
If you are the type that does not really want to be bothered with learning too many buttons for operating the vacuum cleaner, look for one with simple operations. Robotic vacuum cleaners are designed for intelligent cleaning, and if you are unable to enjoy programming features, then you are wasting your money.
One of the reasons why robotic vacuum cleaners are such a hit is their ability to perform scheduled cleaning. You should be able to do that with the vacuum cleaner you plan on buying, and you ought to test how to control it using a remote or connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or an app, if applicable.
It would be a good idea if you choose a self-recharging vacuum cleaner. ILIFE’s vacuum cleaners have this feature, where the unit goes back to its charging dock for recharging once its battery runs out. This means that you don’t have to keep an eye on the battery level and personally recharge it. The robotic vacuum cleaner will take the initiative and charge itself when necessary.

Consider your budget
Robotic vacuum cleaners are a bit on the expensive side, compared to other types of vacuum cleaners. Expect to spend quite a sizable sum, so you need to have a budget in mind and work around that.
All the above considerations are excellent indicators of the key features you should look for in a robotic vacuum cleaner, such as the suction power, cleaning system or technology, build and design, and add-ons or accessories.
Keep in mind that vacuum cleaners are investments and, as such, you have to make sure that every cent is worth it. Find a unit that gives you a good return for your investment.
Whether you choose a more affordable unit or a pricier one, the important thing is that you get a lot of use out of it, and it performs the way you need it to.
With ILIFE robotic vacuum cleaners, you can be sure you will have the vacuum cleaner that suits you.
