Some of the best appliances and electronics come from Anker Innovations, which was founded in 2011 by former Google software engineer, Steven Yang. In the few years of existence, Anker has grown into a five-brand company, including the smart-home robotics brand Eufy. Currently, Eufy has a foothold in the robot vacuum market throughout Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

BoostIQ Eufy RoboVac 11+ Robot Vacuum Review

The 2nd Gen Eufy RoboVac 11+

Eufy fine-tuned its second generation RoboVac 11+ to take the robot’s performance to a new and exciting level.

It’s equipped with powerful suction that increases automatically to thoroughly clean carpets. This robotic vacuum also boasts a wide brushroll and two side brushes as well as a motor that’s quiet and long-lasting.

Thanks to the inclusion of a remote, you can control the robot from the comfort of your couch. The remote allows you to select a cleaning mode, set a schedule and access the vacuum’s other functions. As the vacuum travels across your floors, its full suite of sensors keeps it safe from falls and collisions. For extra protection, Eufy added a scratch-resistant cover and pressure-sensitive bumper to the robou vacuum.

This robot vacuum’s premium features also extend to its lithium-ion battery, which offers an hour or more of working time. When the battery is low, the robot takes itself to the charging dock. In addition to the high-capacity battery, the 2nd Gen Eufy RoboVac 11+ has a large dust bin and three layers of filters.

BoostIQ Technology

Six thousand pascals. That’s how much lifting power this robot vacuum has. There’s no denying that 6,000 pascals of suction equate to power. However, when a robotic vacuum is tasked with cleaning a carpet, sometimes more suction is needed.

To meet the demands of people who have carpeted floors in their home, Eufy developed and integrated its proprietary BoostIQ Technology, which automatically elevates the vacuum’s suction to 1,000 pascals as soon as the robot touches carpet.

With the force of suction produced by the new-and-improved Eufy RoboVac 11+, Eufy ensured that the suction inlet wouldn’t wear out prematurely by reinforcing it. Thanks to the manufacturer’s decision to use a quiet brushless motor and a durable inlet, you get vacuuming performance that goes the distance year after year.

Dual Brush Power

As you would expect with a quality robot vacuum cleaner, the BoostIQ 11+ is equipped with one brush affixed to either side of the vacuum’s undercarriage. These propeller-style brushes reach beyond the bumper of the robot to gather dust and dirt on hard floors and knock out filth on baseboards and in corners.

Each side brush pops in and out, making it easy for you to change them. To get you started and save a few dollars, Eufy includes an extra pair, which means you could go as long as a year without spending money on a replacement set.

In addition to the pair of propeller brushes, the BoostIQ RoboVac 11+ has a wide-reaching brushroll. Due to its bristles that are situated in a helix pattern, the brusholl can remove embedded dirt from most standard residential carpeting with a 0.87-inch pile height or shorter.

Bounce Technology

How does the robot vacuum know where to go? Eufy’s Bounce Technology is the name of the RoboVac 11+’s navigation system. This technology drives the robot in a straight line when in auto mode or single-room mode.

If the robot vacuum is set to another cleaning mode, it will move in a different manner. For instance, the robot follows the borders of a room when in edge mode and circles in a spiral pattern when in spot mode.

If you won’t be home to start an auto-clean session, you can program the robotic vacuum to run in your absence. Simply select the time of your choice, and the robot will begin vacuuming at that time every day of the week. If you need more control than any of the four cleaning modes provides, you have the option of manually driving the robot.

Big Wheels and a Low Profile

Flimsy wheels just won’t do when it comes to vacuuming carpet. The wheels on this robot vacuum are durable and non-marking, so you don’t have to worry about the vacuum getting stuck on carpet or leaving scratches on your hard floors.

Since they are 16 percent larger than the pair used for the original Eufy RoboVac 11, the robot can travel over 0.59-inch thresholds with ease.

With a diameter of 12.8 inches, the BoostIQ 11+ is able to skirt around pieces of furniture and really reach into corners. It’s also slim in terms of height, standing approximately 3.1 inches tall. Therefore, the vacuum is able to clear heights of 3 inches, meaning it can clean under sofas, armchairs and beds.

Obstacle and Fall Avoidance

Stairs, pets, people, furniture, plants and home decor have one aspect in common – They are all potential hazards to a robotic vacuum.

Thanks to the inclusion of 11 anti-collision and anti-drop infrared sensors, it’s highly unlikely that the RoboVac 11plus or the items in your home will incur damage from impacts or falls.

Taking a prudent approach to preventing damage, Eufy added two other safety features. This robot vacuum’s brushed metal cover is constructed from tempered glass, giving it a slight sheen and protecting it from scratches.

The 7.6-pound robot vacuum also has a pressure-sensitive bumper that allows the robot to survive accidental impacts.

A Remote Control

Remote controls are a mainstay of modern technology. Televisions, air conditioner units, projectors and numerous other appliances and electronics come with a remote, so it only makes sense for robotic vacuums to have one too.

The remote control that comes with the BoostIQ Eufy RoboVac 11+ features an LCD screen that provides clear visibility for setting the time and programming a schedule. It also has illustrated buttons, which make it a breeze to change modes as well as manually dock the vacuum and drive it turn by turn.

Of course, there may be instances when it’s more convenient to start the vacuum from the vacuum itself. If you misplace the remote or happen to be closer to the robot than the remote, you can start the robo vac in auto mode by pressing the power button on the vacuum’s cover.

An Amazing Run Time

Do you have a large home? This robotic vacuum can clean all the floors in it within a single day. Due to its 14.8-volt 2,600 mAh lithium-ion battery, the 2nd Gen 11+ runs for 100 minutes on a full charge when producing normal suction and 60 minutes when BoostIQ suction is operational.

The recharge time isn’t too shabby either. In 6 hours or less, the robo vac can go achieve a 100-percent battery life. Eufy designed the robot vacuum to dock to the charger when the battery is low, so the vacuum will always be ready to go at a moment’s notice. Since the dock only draws 25 watts of electricity, you won’t see a hike in your power bill.

High-Capacity Dirt Bin

Robotic vacuums are supposed to lighten your load, not add to your list of cumbersome chores. The best robotvac models have a large dirt bin, so you don’t have to empty them often. Inside of this robot vacuum cleaner, there is a dirt bin with a 0.55-liter capacity. By pushing the bin’s release button, you can pull out the bin and open its hinged lid to quickly dump its contents.

When you open the bin, you’ll notice three filters positioned on the underside of the lid. These filters consist of a HEPA-style filter and two sponge filters for optimal fine-particle containment. Although the cost of replacement filters is inexpensive, Eufy does you a solid by throwing in an extra set.

Straightforward Troubleshooting

There is no appliance on the market that works perfectly at all times. In order to simplify the troubleshooting process, Eufy includes a short guide that tells you what the indicator light and audible beeps are telling you. For example, a flashing red light with two beeps means the bumper is lodged while a solid red light with four beeps indicates an impediment in the brushroll.

If you can’t rectify the issue by yourself, you aren’t on your own. Eufy covers the RoboVac 11+ with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty.

One of the Better Robot Vacuums

As far as quality goes, robot vacuums run from junky to outstanding. One feature that puts this robotic vacuum a step above the competition is its enhanced suction with BoostIQ Technology, and the addition of a brushroll means this vacuum is just as compatible with carpeted floors as it is with hard floors.

You have to love the sheer number of cleaning modes available on this robot vacuum, and the remote control is a must-have convenience. Eufy’s decision to use a lithium-ion battery instead of a nickel-based battery means you get an incredible working time. The auto-dock feature and programmed scheduling only add to the robot’s bang-up features.

Then, there is the filtration system. In the BoostIQ Eufy 11plus vacuum, there’s not one, not two, but three filters, including a HEPA-style filter. Therefore, you won’t see much dust escaping from the dirt bin. On the subject of the bin, its capacity is larger than those in most other robot vacuum cleaners. It’s your money, so get the most out of it –
