If you’re looking for the best robot vacuum cleaner out there, there’s one brand you should look to: iRobot. It doesn’t matter which Roomba you choose; it’s going to offer the best the robot vacuum technology has to offer at that time. Today, we’d like to show you the iRobot Roomba j7+ (7550), a highly intelligent robot vacuum that’s great for pet owners. Read on to find out how.

1800-Pa Suction Power
If you didn’t know, 1800 Pa of suction power isn’t the most that robot vacuums have to offer. In fact, by Roomba standards, this is roughly about the average amount of suction power you’ll get, meaning that you can find other Roombas with more powerful motors.
However, based on test runs and user reports, 1800 Pa of suction power is just about all you’ll need to get rid of surface debris on bare floors and embedded dirt particles in carpets. While we wish it had more suction power, the j7+ can get away with what it has already.
DirtDetect Technology
Here’s something that might interest you. If you’ve ever owned a robot vacuum before, you’re probably aware that they follow a programmed route. So, when you drop a pile of dirt in a newly vacuumed area, you’ll have to wait for the robot vac to restart its vacuum cycle to pick it up. Frustrating, right?

Well, your days of frustration are over! The j7+ sports something called DirtDetect Technology that commands the robot to pick up fresh stains within its sensory range. The j7+ will actively step away from its preprogrammed cleaning route to pick up nearby dirt tracks before resuming work. If that doesn’t impress you, we don’t know what else will.

Intelligent Mapping System and Voice Support
Actually, the new and improved navigation and mapping system in the j7+ might astound you. The j7+ comes with a series of sensors to create the most accurate digital map possible. Using the iRobot Home app, users can gain access to the map, make tiny modifications here and there (very rarely needed), and give names to different rooms.
With the iRobot Home app, you can create virtual barriers to stop the j7+ from bumping into vases, pet bowls, or other harmful obstacles. In addition, users can send their j7+ to specific rooms to focus its cleaning efforts in high-traffic areas. The customizability of this robot vacuum via the smartphone app is just insane.

P.O.O.P.
Do you know what else is insane? P.O.O.P. No, we’re not trying to be funny—iRobot offers a specialized guarantee called Pet Owner Official Promise. This guarantee states that your j7+ will never, ever step a wheel into stray pet turds and smear them all over your beautiful carpet and tiles.
How do the j7+ do this? It comes with a powerful camera that’s programmed to identify pet waste. So, when it comes across stray doodoo, it’ll automatically turn and continue cleaning in another direction. If the j7+’s camera fails at any time, iRobot’s P.O.O.P. states that they’ll replace your robot with a brand-new one, completely free of charge. It’s a pretty bold promise with a pretty generous offer.

Tag-Team Mopping Buddy
Does the j7+ come with a mop attachment? Nope. So, how does it wipe your floors clean if it doesn’t have a water tank or microfiber pad? It summons an iRobot Braava jet m6 to mop your floors after it has completed its vacuuming cycle.
If you have both devices at home, the j7+ and the jet m6 create a tag-team duo. You can program the two of them to work one after the other via the smartphone app. Please note that you’ll have to pick up the Braava jet m6 separately.

Clean Base
iRobot was the first to come out with a self-emptying base for its robots, so it only makes sense that the j7+ comes with one, as well. The self-emptying base, called a Clean Base, vacuums debris out of the j7+ dustbin every time it returns to recharge or activated standby mode.
This leaves the dustbin completely empty and the j7+ ready for subsequent cleaning sessions. The Clean Base can store up to 60 days’ worth of floor debris on average.
