When it comes to air purifiers, there’s one brand that has always impressed—Medify. While you can’t go wrong with a Medify air purifier, you should choose the model that fits with your home and comes with all the features you need. Today, we’re going to compare seven Medify air purifiers to see what each model has to offer.

Medify MA-14

The Medify MA-14 has a decent coverage area capacity of around 470 square feet, making it the perfect compact air purifier for bedrooms and dorms. It follows the traditional air purifier style of suctioning air from the bottom and releasing breathable, purified air from above.

Medify didn’t skimp on the filter setup to make the MA-14 as budget-friendly as it is. This device features a two-tier filtration system, consisting of a pre-filter layer that traps larger particles, and an H13 True HEPA Filter that captures and holds onto 0.3-micron particles and larger with 99.97% efficiency.

You’ll find at least both of these filters in every Medify model in this comparison.

This mostly desktop air purifier has an optimal ACH (air change per hour) of 1 ACH in 470-square-foot rooms and up to 4 ACH in 235-square-foot rooms.

The MA-14’s CADR (clean air delivery rate) figures show 73 CFM for dust, 70 CFM for smoke, and 69 CFM for pollen. These figures are nowhere near the 200-plus-CFM we look for in an air purifier, but considering its compact size and limited cleaning capacity, these numbers aren’t half-bad.

Medify MA-15

As we move up the ranks, you’ll notice that subsequent Medify air purifiers have a farther reach than the model before it. The Medify MA-15, which is noticeably larger than the MA-14, sports a beefier motor that spins a larger fan to suction in more air per second. The farthest this air purifier can reach is 500 square feet, though it works in rooms as tiny as 330 square feet to produce a higher ACH rating.

As stated earlier, every Medify air purifier in this comparison features a pre-filter for larger particles and a medical-grade H13 True HEPA Filter that traps nearly 100% of common allergens, like pollen, mold spores, and dander. However, the MA-15 comes with a third layer—an activated carbon filter that removes toxic fumes, kitchen and cigarette odors, and VOCs from the air.

In terms of performance, the MA-15 is better than the MA-14, albeit only slightly. The MA-15 scores 88 CFM in all three categories (dust, smoke, pollen), which is a definite breath of fresh air for those who suffer from pet and seasonal allergies. This air purifier works optimally in rooms of between 330 and 500 square feet.

Bonus features of the MA-15, apart from the stuff you’ll get from the smaller model, include a handy filter replacement indicator, a child-lock button, and a 1/2/4/8-hour timer.

Medify MA-25

First of all, it comes with the same triple-tier filtration setup as the MA-15—a pre-filter, an H13 True HEPA Filter, and an activated carbon filter—to rid indoor air of much more than just smelly odors and common allergens. If anyone experiences sneezing fits and dry throats during the summer, having an air purifier with these types of filters might help alleviate your suffering.

Design-wise, the Medify MA-25 is far too large to be a desktop air purifier. With its long-distance reach, it belongs in corners with several inches of clearance on all sides. While bulkier than the previous desktop air purifiers, the MA-25 is still as portable as can be, thanks to its lightweight build and handle grooves.

Medify claims that the MA-25 can purify the air in 500-square-foot rooms, but some users have pushed the limits and placed this air purifier in 1,000-square-foot spaces and received surprisingly positive results (1 ACH). The MA-25 scores 147 CFM in all three particle categories, which is decent for a far-reaching air purifier.

Sadly, its bonus features don’t differ from the MA-15’s. That’s not to say that the child-lock button, built-in timer, and LED filter replacement indicator aren’t handy, but like you, we were expecting more. It has a pretty simple design and white shell with gray trim, which is nice.

Medify MA-35

In terms of design, the Medify MA-35 is as unique as they come. This air purifier doesn’t rest on top of tables or in the corners of rooms. Instead, it mounts onto walls with a built-in bracket, freeing floor space for other items like vases. However, the main drawback of wall-mounted air purifiers is that they’re not very portable, so think carefully about where you want to place your Medify MA-35.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the filters. The MA-35 goes beyond just the triple-tier filtration system of the previous two Medify models. Apart from the pre-filter, H13 HEPA Filter, and activated carbon filter, this air purifier also features an optional ionizer that negatively charges particles so they adhere to the filters more easily. Even though there are claims that the ionizer feature doesn’t produce ozone, you should still take proper precautions and only activate when nobody or no pets are indoors.

Something that you’ve probably been looking for this entire time is an air purifier with smart sensors and auto mode. Well, here it is! The sensors constantly measure airborne pollution levels before kick-starting the motor on the most appropriate fan speed to rid the air of pesky particles. When the job is done, the MA-35 will stop what it’s doing and await further commands.

Medify MA-40

Starting from this model, Medify has abandoned the wall-mounted air purifier design of the MA-35 and stuck to tradition. The Medify MA-40 is a large, far-reaching air purifier with a single large vent in the front and an exhaust in the back. On the top panel, you’ll find the control board, which gives you access to all of the air purifier’s incredible features, including auto mode.

The filter setup is identical to that of the MA-35. It also features an optional ionizer that sends a negative charge to nearby airborne particles so they have a better chance of sticking onto the H13 True HEPA Filter.

Performance-wise, there’s a clear difference between this unit and the previous Medify models. It scores 186 CFM, 206 CFM, and 246 CFM for dust, smoke, and pollen, respectively. Anyone whose sinuses get tickled by cigarette/cigar smoke or springtime allergies will appreciate the heavy-duty cleaning capabilities of the MA-40.

One thing we want to note about the MA-40 is that, unlike the other models in this comparison, this unit doesn’t have a built-in soundproofing system. On its highest setting, it generates a 65-dBA buzz, which, per customer reports, is intolerable at night.

Of course, your could leave your MA-40 on auto mode all day and night, and it’ll hopefully remove most of the pollution during the daytime when background noises can mask the loud noises.

Medify MA-50

In the looks department, the Medify MA-50 doesn’t vary from the MA-40 by a lot. It features the same grill-style inlet panel and rear-facing exhaust vent, and the digital controls are placed on the top panel.

Medify suggests placing the MA-50 in 550-square-foot rooms for the best results, but if you have 1,000-plus-square-foot parts of your home that need clean air, this device can certainly deliver. Speaking of deliver, the CADR ratings of the MA-50 are 300 CFM across the board. If you thought 200-plus-CFM was good, then you’ll be amazed at how much more efficient this air purifier can rid your home of common allergens.

Similar to many of the Medify air purifier models mentioned earlier, the MA-50 relies on the “standard” triple-filter setup that consists of a pre-filter, H13 HEPA Filter, and activated carbon filter. However, this device takes it a step further by coming with a UV-C “kill chamber,” where living microorganisms are exposed to a high dosage of germicidal beams that deconstruct their proteins at the molecular level.

What’s most unfortunate about the MA-50 is that it doesn’t have smart sensors or auto cleaning mode. You’ll have to fiddle with the fan speeds or rely on the 2-12-hour timer to stop the device from “over-purifying” your home.

Simply put, the Medify MA-112 is the most high-end air purifier on this list. It’s not exactly pocket-friendly by air purifier standards, but you’ll also get the most bells and whistles for your purchase. Will you need every frill in the book? That’s hard to say, but if you want an air purifier that blows other models out of the water, well, here it is.

First of all, how well does the MA-112 perform? It relies on the same exact four-level filtration design as the MA-35 and MA-40, including an optional ionizer that sends a staticky charge to airborne pollutants for better adherence to the H13 filter. However, its CADR ratings tell the true story of the MA-112’s amazing cleaning capabilities.

With CADR ratings of 400 CFM, 450 CFM, and 450 CFM for dust, smoke, and pollen, there’s a minuscule risk that common allergens will make their way past the filter and back into the air. With such high figures, the MA-112 is, without a doubt, one of the top-performing residential-grade air purifiers available today.
