Bestway vs. Coleman Inflatable Hot Tub: Trusted Comparison in 2023

Soaking in an inflatable hot tub is an inexpensive way to relax after a long, hard day of doing absolutely nothing. In this comparison guide, we’re going to take a look at two highly rated inflatable hot tubs—the Bestway and the Coleman—to see which of them you should place in your backyard.

Bestway Miami SaluSpa

52-inch Inner Diameter

The inner diameter of the Bestway is 52 inches when fully inflated—roughly a comfortable size for seating between 2 and 4 people with a few children scattered here and there.

This isn’t the largest inflatable hot tub on the market as you’ll soon see in a bit, but the silver lining is that it leaves a smaller footprint while accommodating tiny groups of people (larger groups of tinier people).

177-gallon Capacity

Bestway recommends filling their hot tub to 80% max capacity or with about 177 gallons of water. This tub is safe to use with chlorine, meaning you won’t need to dump nearly 200 gallons of water after each use. This much water should reach chest level to help relieve stress in the lower-back region after sitting all day.

Resistant against Punctures

Both of these inflatable hot tubs are rated puncture resistant (within reason). They are made of a multi-layer flexible material with flexible I-beam supports built inside.

When fully inflated, the I-beams stand straight up, allowing the free movement of air inside of the inflatable device. These tubs are more than durable enough to withstand the average full-grown person while sitting on the edge, although we wouldn’t recommend doing this for extended periods.

120 Bubble Jets

Along the inner perimeter of the hot tub are 120 bubble jets evenly distributed to produce a soothing massage to all people inside of the tub. Users can adjust the temperature of the jets to up to 104° for a relaxing sensation while soaking with friends and family.

Built-in Energy-Saving Timer

Both the Bestway and the Coleman come with a wide range of built-in features that make setting them up painless for the user. However, they’re not exactly energy-efficient, which is why we welcome the energy-saving timer with open arms. The jets can bet set on a timer to offer a massage for as long as you want before automatically shutting off to save power.

Coleman SaluSpa

57-inch Inner Diameter and 242-gallon Capacity

The most significant difference between the Coleman and Bestway is their size. The Coleman measures 5 inches wider than the Bestway to accommodate up to 6 users at once.

Of course, you’ll need to add more water into the tub, regardless of how many people are enjoying the 120 pressurized jets. The Coleman needs 242 gallons of water to reach chest height.

Multi-Function Pump and Heater

In every other regard, the Coleman and Bestway are pretty much identical, from construction to built-in accessories. They both feature a multi-function tool that both pumps and heats water to up to 104°F.

You can’t use this device without the pumping function, but we wholeheartedly recommend connecting the heater to a propane tank rather than plugging it into an electrical outlet (depending on energy costs in your region).

CHEMCONNECT Dispenser

These hot tubs also come with a series of CHEMCONNECT dispensers that evenly distribute chlorine and throughout the entire tub to keep water clear, clean, and healthy.

Make sure you take a good look at the included paperwork to maintain a healthy balance between chlorine-to-water ratio before inflating your new hot tub

Hot Tub Cover Included

Inside of their boxes is a durable cover that stretches across the upper lip of these hot tubs.

The cover serves to block sunrays from supporting algae growth in the tub when not in use while also preventing leaves, twigs, flowers, insects, and any other contaminant you can imagine from polluting the water. Using this cover will save you from needlessly dumping out hundreds of gallons of water too frequently.

Easy Water Removal

Speaking of dumping out the water, it’s inevitable that you need to empty the tub from time to time. On the side of the Coleman and Bestway inflatable tubs is a port where a standard garden hose connects to remove most of the water. Afterward, all you need to do is flip the tub over to remove the rest before deflating the tub and putting it away. Easy peasy.

Bestway vs. Coleman: Which Inflatable Hot Tub Should I Get?

Except for their sizes, the Bestway and Coleman are identical in every which way possible, from their construction to their built-in features to maintenance methods.

The only question you need to ask yourself when deciding between the two is how many people you plan on entertaining with your new hot tub. For 2-4 people, the Bestway is the more cost-efficient tub; for up to 6 people, the Coleman can seat comfortably.
