We’ve seen what the HPA100 by Honeywell is all about, and this time around, we want to check out what the HPA600B—a larger, more powerful air purifier—has to offer.

"Honeywell

As a Honeywell air purifier, we have pretty high expectations for this machine, and we’re glad to report that the HPA600B does not disappoint.

200-square-foot Coverage

The largest sized room that the HPA600B can optimally purify is 200 square feet. Considering the style and size of this air purifier, it isn’t as far-reaching as we had initially expected, but regardless, it does an absolutely beautiful job in limited spaces.

"Honeywell

The 200-square-foot coverage capacity makes this an ideal air purifier for placement in bedrooms, kitchens, and dorms.

3-Direction Air Intake

The blocky design of the HPA600B means it doesn’t have complete 360° air intake like the HPA100. However, it does hack large intakes on the side with a tiny vent on the bottom of the front panel so you can be flexible about where you place it.

The back vent is to allow heated air to escape which, in turns, lets this air purifier run nonstop without overheating.

3-Level Filtration

Like the HPA100, the HPA600B uses a multi-level filtration system that includes a pre-filter, activated carbon filter, and a True HEPA Filter.

The difference between the two is that this model separates the pre-filter and carbon filter in order to maximize the lifespan of the latter while the former never needs to be replaced. Both the activated carbon filter and True HEPA Filter can last for an entire year before needing to be changed.

CADR and ACH

Now onto the HPA600B’s performance. Its CADR ratings—the figures that indicate how well it removes certain airborne pollutants from the air—are a lot higher than we had anticipated. For dust, smoke, and pollen, the HPA600B scores 184, 210, and 205 CFM, respectively. Although the dust-removal rating is bit on the low side, overall, this machine keeps on its promise to purify the air in confined spaces.

High Noise Output

Perhaps our only complaint about the HPA600B is that it’s rather noisy for its size. On its fifth and highest fan speed, this air purifier produces a 58-decibel grumble that many users have found distracting, especially in bedrooms and dorms.

The great news is that it has five different speed settings, all of which produce considerably less volume than its Turbo setting, so keeping it in the bedroom at nighttime shouldn’t be too disturbing.

Smart Air Quality Sensor + Auto Cleaning Mode

The HPA600B is a feature-packed air purifier that comes with the most beneficial feature of all: a smart air quality sensor.

The sensor constantly monitors the concentration of airborne particles in the immediate area and, upon reaching a certain threshold, will automatically kick-start the motor to life.

"Honeywell
Honeywell HPA600B

On auto mode, the motor will automatically switch between gears depending on how polluted the air is in order to clear the air as efficiently as possible. When air pollution levels drop to tolerable levels, the motor will shut off automatically and remain on standby mode. If you’re looking for a set-it-and-forget-it type of air purifier, this is the one for you!

Bluetooth Connectivity

To make matters even better, the HPA600B is controllable via Bluetooth and a downloadable app on your smart device. With the remote control on your person at all times, you won’t need to worry as much about misplacing your only means of controlling the HPA600B from afar. The app only covers the basics, but it definitely makes using the HPA600B a lot more enjoyable.

LED Filter Indicator

Any feature that has us thinking less about the air purifier is the ultimate form of convenience. In the case of the HPA600B, apart from its auto-cleaning mode, it’s the LED filter indicator which turns on when the activated carbon filter or HEPA Filter need to be replaced.

In the end, there’s little guesswork involved when using and practically self-sufficient machine.

Dimmable Lights on Sleep Mode

It wouldn’t be a Honeywell product if it didn’t have dimmable lights. The HPA600B’s bright LEDs can be dimmed or turned off completely to help users fall asleep more peacefully at night. No bright or blinking lights to worry about!

Verdict: Should I Get the Honeywell HPA600B?

Our answer to this question is a resounding, unequivocal yes, you should get the Honeywell HPA600B if you need an air purifier for your bedroom.

Granted, it can be loud at times on its Turbo speed setting, but if you leave it on auto-mode, the need for this speed is very rarely arises as the other four speeds do an excellent job.

"Air

Most Popular</legend>
""

The Levoit Core 300 air purifier has some strong suits, but in our opinion it falls short of carving out a meaningful niche for itself. Its ideal use would be in a small bedroom occupied by someone who is sensitive to noise.
</fieldset>

Also Great</legend>
""

With high end air cleaning performance and a whisper quiet fan, the Winix 5500-2 is the perfect combination of power and finesse. Best of the Best</legend>
""

If you have a large space you want to remove irritants from, We recommend the Airmega 400S.
