Although they’re known mainly for making top of the line toilets, TOTO’s line of bidet toilet seats are just as worthy of notice. Today, we’re going to take a look at the C200 Electronic Bidet Toilet Seat, an impressive piece of ingenious Japanese engineering that combines functionality with comfort.
If you’re in the market for a mid-range toilet seat with most of the bells and whistles, the TOTO C200 just might be it.
Bidet Seat Design
Measuring 18-3/4 inches from front to rear and 15-3/8 inches from side to side, the C200 is a bit larger than what you’d typically find.
On the right-hand side of the bidet are four indicator LEDs that control a number of features, including heating and pressure. On the left side is where all of the plumbing goes to supply this bidet with flowing water. We’ll go into more detail on the C200’s features later in separate sections later on.
Easy to Install
If you’re unfamiliar with how to install a bidet, you can put your worries to rest. The C200 comes with all of the equipment needed to get it hooked up and running correctly.
All you need to do is remove your current toilet seat, align and fasten the C200 on your toilet, redirect the toilet supply line from the tank to the bidet, and plug it into a wall outlet. The included paperwork gives clear instructions how to properly install the C200.
Remote Control
Controlling the various features can be done via the handy remote control. The front of the remote control contains all of the basic controllable functions such as the positioning of the bidet and spray adjustment.
Flip the remote control over and the LCD display will give you access to water, seat, and dryer temperatures. Batteries, sadly, are not included.
PREMIST
As soon as your bottom meats the heated seats of the C200, it will release a fine mist of water on the surface of the toilet bowl.
The purpose of this PREMIST feature is to prevent waste from sticking to the toilet bowl, reducing how frequently you need to scrub your toilet. This is done before each and every use to make the tedious task of scrubbing a lot easier to manage.
Adjustable Nozzle
In case you didn’t know, the C200 is an electric bidet seat that plugs into any standard 3-hole outlet. This makes the bidet a lot more enjoyable—not to mention more hygienic—to use compared to manual bidets. Using the remote control, you can adjust the direction of posterior spray nozzle.
Users can adjust the spray to be concentrated, medium, or wide. The oscillating feature sends the nozzle back and forth to make more contact to leave you feeling cleaner than ever.
Heated Water
The C200 wouldn’t be worth the investment if it didn’t have a built-in water heater, right? The 5 water temperature settings range between 94°F and 104°F. The most unfortunate thing about the C200 is that its water reservoir holds a very limited amount of water.
Spend too much time on the toilet playing around with the mister and dual-action sprayers and you’ll need to give the heater another five minutes to bring water back up to temp.
Air Dryer and “Deodorizer”
Not only does the C200 heat water to a comfortable temperature, but it also has a vent that air-dries your delicate parts after a thorough washing.
Notice how we put quotes around deodorizer? Due to a mistranslation, the C200 is marketed to have a built-in deodorizer which we assumed would spray a freshener to mask smells.
However, in reality, it comes with a charcoal filter that aims to trap odor molecules. This system is actually a lot more effective than using an air freshener.
Energy Saver Feature
TOTO understands that electric bidets can consume quite a bit of energy, especially since some of their features activate as soon as you open the lid. By activating Energy Saver mode, the C200 will automatically shut off its heating element after a certain period of time.
The drawback is you need to wait around for 5 minutes or so for the water to heat back up, but potential savings on energy costs are definitely worth the wait.
