TOTO has a very large line of bidet toilet seats, starting from entry-level units to super high-end models. Their A100 Electronic Bidet Toilet is one of their more basic models that’s missing many of the convenience-adding features you’d find in their C200 and K300.

Side-Panel Controller
One of the more significant differences between the A100 and TOTOT’s higher-end bidet toilet seats is the remote control, or the A100’s lack thereof. Adjusting water temperature and activating oscillating cleanse is done by pressing buttons on side-panel controller.
Because it’s built onto the toilet seat, there’s no risk of it going missing, although you need to mindful of splashing water when washing your hands at your bathroom sink.
Heated SoftClose Seat
The A100 wouldn’t be a TOTO bidet toilet if it didn’t have heated seats. It comes with the standard SoftClose Seat found in many of TOTO’s bidet model, but this one has 3 temperature settings instead of a programmable one within a certain temperature range.
All you need to do to choose between the presets is press the button on the side-panel control.
Heated Water Reservoir
The same goes for controlling water temperature. The A100 uses a reservoir system instead of an instantaneous heating element, so if the tank runs out, you’ll have to wait several minutes for it to replenish water at your chosen temperature of between 94° and 104°F.
The A100 has two memory slots to offer its users quick access to their desired temperature and pressure settings.
Oscillating Spray Wand
Similar to many bidet toilet seats out there, the A100 comes with a frontal (feminine) spray and a posterior spray. The posterior spray can be configured to deliver an oscillating cleanse instead of a continuous, 1-direction spray for more thorough cleaning in the rear.
This spray is made of plastic instead of stainless-steel, and you can adjust both water temperature and pressure gushing out of it to your liking (3 temperature presets, 5 pressure presets).
Before and after each use, the spray cleans itself, inside and out, to prevent a spread of bacteria between users so multiple users can feel comfortable using the same seat and spray.
Easy to Install
The only real requirements needed to operate the A100 fully are having a round toilet bowl and a power outlet nearby. If you have those (most modern homes and apartments do), then setting up the A100 is a simple matter of releasing your current toilet seat, fastening this one onto your toilet, and redirecting water to the reservoir and heating element.
Furthermore, TOTO made maintaining this bidet toilet seat a lot easier than many of its competitors. To detach it from your toilet, you won’t need to unscrew the entire contraption but instead press a quick-release button on the side opposite the controller. In an instant, it unhooks from the toilet to make cleanup (manual washing and sanitizing) a breeze.
Auto-Energy Saver
Not only does the A100 offer peace of mind in terms of cleanliness but in terms of utility costs. The A100 has an automatic energy saver mode that limits its standby time to mere minutes. While on standby, it turns off the heating element and seat warmers in order to reduce excessive power consumption. That’s pretty remarkable for a toilet seat if you ask us.
No PREMIST, No Deodorizer, No Dryer, No Pulsating Cleanse
As we mentioned at the beginning of this review, the A100 is one of TOTO’s most basic bidet toilet seats. Although basic doesn’t mean bad, it does mean it’s missing a lot of the convenience-adding features you might want in a bidet.
For instance, it does have a PREMIST-er that shoots a fine mist of vapor along the inner toilet bowl to prevent waste from sticking onto the surface. It doesn’t have a carbon filter and suction fan to eliminate malodors directly from the source of stink. It can’t dry your rear by delivering a soothing continuous blast of heated air.
Finally, there’s no pulsating cleansing mode that introduces air into the spray of water for a deeper, more thorough clean. These features are available in the TOTO C200 and K300.

Assuming you’re ready to take the next step towards a lifestyle of reduced toilet paper use, the only thing you need to ask yourself is whether the A100’s lack of convenience features will make a significant change in the bathroom.
For first-time bidet buyers, the A100 will unquestionably leave a mark (so to speak), but we feel there’s just too much to give up if you don’t get the TOTO C200 or K300.
