Today, we’re reviewing the Shark VM252 VACMOP Pro, a handy cleaning tool that combines the best of cordless stick vacs and spray mops. As a Shark-made tool, we have very little doubt about its ease of use and performance, but how good of a multi-purpose tool is it?
Table of Contents
Powerful Suction
Though it may not look like it, but the Shark VACMOP Pro is packing some pretty impressive heat. This combo tool delivers a powerful enough suction to lift all sorts of dry debris off of floors, from tiny specks of dust to large kibble and cereal.

Best of all, it does it in a single sweep, leaving no dry bits behind after each pass. So, not only does it perform as well as any high-end stick vac you’ll find on the market, it’s an absolute time-saver!
Formula on Demand
As a vac-mop combo tool, the Shark VACMOP Pro also offers spray-mop capabilities. After filling the tank with your formula of choice, all you need to do is press the spray button with your thumb to deliver a satisfyingly wide fan of solution to remove sticky stains from sealed hard floors.
The VACMOP’s floorhead is designed in such a way to suction in dry debris before the mopping away residual spills and stains.
Reversible, Disposable Microfiber Pads
Despite being a recent release, Shark decided to implement the early-2000s method of using disposable pads. After the microfiber pad has become saturated, there’s no way to clean it and wring it.
The silver lining is that the microfiber pads can be flipped over to make use of the other side, offering several hundred of square feet of cleaning before replacing. Best of all, to remove the pad, all you need to do is pull on the yellow latch on the floorhead and it’ll pop right out.

Edge-Cleaning Woes
The disposable microfiber pads attached to a plastic segment where the two front corners jut out past the microfiber pad. This, unfortunately, limits how far forward you can mop without spinning the tool a complete 180°. We can’t fault Shark too much for this design “flaw” since it leaves enough space for the vacuum to draw in air to vacuum and mop simultaneously.

Built-in LEDs
Like many stick vacs on the market, the VACMOP Pro comes with built-in LEDs in its floorhead. They’re not super-bright but will illuminate dark spaces to help you remove lint and old spills hiding beneath furniture. The LEDs turn on automatically as soon as you pull the trigger.
No Lockable Trigger
We were slightly disappointed to find out that the VACMOP Pro does not have a lockable trigger. To use this device, you’ll need to continuously hold the trigger while pushing and pulling the handle which can be uncomfortable to say the least.
This will save a bit on battery power, especially when you don’t want to activate the high-power suction, but this is a needless inconvenience that we wouldn’t have expected from Shark.
Handle Design
There’s nothing too impressive about the design of the handle other than its hooked end that makes holding onto the VACMOP Pro easy on the wrist. The issue we have is with the location of the on-demand formula button. When bringing the handle down to clean beneath furniture, we found it nearly impossible to keep our thumb off of the button which unfortunately leads to accidental spraying.

40-minute Runtime with Magnetic Charger
What we would expect is magnificent battery life. After charging the VACMOP Pro for between four and six hours (as is typical of most stick vacs on the market), you’ll get up to 40 minutes of cleaning time.
This, combined with the lightweight build of the unit, should help in cleaning most of a home’s hard floors between charges. It comes with a magnetized charger that connects easily to the back of the tank.

5-pound Build
Speaking of lightweight, the dry-weight of the VACMOP is a sliver under five pounds. By cordless vacuum cleaner standards, that’s among the lightest it can get without sacrificing motor size and power. With a tankful of floor-cleaning solution, the weight climbs to between six and seven pounds.

Verdict: Should I Get the Shark VACMOP?
As you can see, the Shark VM252 VACMOP Pro is far from being the perfect 2-in-1 vacuum-mop tool but by no means are we left disappointed.
Simultaneously vacuuming and mopping in one sweep with a single tool that’s not a hybrid robotic vacuum will save you tons of time and energy.
With a 40-minute runtime, you’ll be able to clean most of your home’s floors in one charge and quite possibly before the microfiber pad is fully saturated with dirt.
On the whole, the Shark VACMOP Pro Cordless Hard Floor Vacuum Mop is the quintessential vacuum mop. While it may not offer the same performance as other, more expensive, vacuum mops, it offers an excellent vacuuming and mopping experience.
By using the vacuuming feature, you can remove dirt, dust, and debris from your hard floors. Then, the mopping system easily removes whatever’s left over, while also eradicating stains and messes. If you need an affordable vacuum mop that works well, then the Shark VM252 VACMOP Pro will be a great purchase.
Pros: Effective vacuuming and mopping, lightweight and portable, affordable
Cons: Offers less performance than other vacuum mops, isn’t great for removing especially dense stains and messes
- COMPLETE CLEAN: Powerful suction plus spray mopping - a complete clean in one pad.
- DISPOSABLE PADS: Disposable VACMOP Pads vacuum up what other pads push around.
