Xiaomi offers a ton of different Roborock models, from the affordable to the high-end. The Roborock S6 is one of their latest models built with all of the bells and whistles for added convenience and performance. In this review, we’re going to take a close look at what the Roborock S6 is all about and determine whether it’s worth the investment.

2,000-Pa Max Suction
Just like the Roborock E4, the S6 can deliver a maximum of 2,000 Pa for ultimate cleaning performance. By robot vacuum standards, this isn’t the most powerful suction, but it’s more than enough to clean your floors in fewer passes.

The S6 is able to pick up tiny debris like rice and pet food out of low- and medium-pile carpeting, let alone bare floors.
Carpet Boost Technology
But that’s not even the best part. The S6 is equipped with a multitude of sensors, some of which monitor the surface of the floor it’s treading in order to adjust its suction power to an appropriate rating.
As soon as the S6 steps onto carpeting, the motor will kick into high gear and deliver the maximum 2,000-Pa suction to remove most, if not all, debris in a single pass. This auto-adjusting feature also extends the runtime per charge in homes with both bare and carpeted floors.
Mopping Capabilities
And it only gets better! The S6 isn’t just a one-trick pony; it also comes with a mop module that users can fill with water, and a microfiber wipe that attaches to the robot. Both of these components work together to mop bare floors and remove any tiny specks of dust that the S6 either missed or tossed to the side. The S6 cannot mop and vacuum simultaneously.
One tiny feature that doesn’t get the praise it deserves is the clip-on base that attaches to the docking station. This base keeps the robot’s wet wipe up and off of your floors to save floorboards from excessive dampness while it’s charging.

180-minute Runtime
Inside of the tiny circular robot is a massive 5,200-mAh rechargeable battery that offers up to 180 minutes of continuous vacuuming or mopping. The S6 is capable of traveling and vacuuming up to 2,700 square feet before it heads back to its docking station to charge.

As soon as it has enough battery life to complete its task at hand, the S6 will automatically leave the dock and pick up where it left off.

Intelligent Mapping and Routing
As one of the more high-end models in the Roborock robot vacuum line, you can expect it to have some of the most intelligent navigation software installed.
The Roborock S6 is sporting Smart LDS Navigation with 14 different sensors to scan not only the type of floor its cleaning but also to create a digital layout of your floors. It accesses this map to create the most efficient cleaning route in order to increase battery efficiency.

Selective Room and No-Go Zone Programmability
Users are able to access the digital map created by the S6 via the Xiaomi Home app. Using the app, you can choose which room or rooms to vacuum or mop and also define which spaces of your home that the robot cannot trespass into.
For those who plan on running their S6 at nighttime, it’s a nice feature to prevent the robot vacuum from wandering into your bedroom and quietly but noticeable vacuum away.

Configuring selective room cleaning and no-go zones can be a bit tricky at first. The app is pretty awkward to use and the instructions may not be clear enough for first-time robot vacuum users. However, it won’t take long to get the hang of using.

Basic Smartphone App
We mentioned earlier that the S6 is compatible with the Xiaomi Home app. The app itself is pretty decent—it offers a ton of programmable features including selective room and scheduled cleaning—but it’s also extremely basic.
We would have loved for the S6 to work with the specially made Roborock smartphone app that has a better user interface and is, overall, a more enjoyable experience to use.

After seeing what the Roborock S6 has to offer, it’s pretty clear that this robot vacuum cleaner is one of the best models that is currently available on the market.
There is an upgraded version of the Roborock S6 called the S6 MaxV, but you’re certainly not missing out on a lot with this robot. Overall, it’s a delightful robot to use and is nearly a hands-off type of bot.
