1,070-Square-Foot Coverage

What you have to realize is the A3 is no ordinary air purifier.

It’s one of the hardest-working devices on the planet. It has an effective cleaning range of up to 1,070 square feet, making it an appropriate air purifier for entire apartments or multiple rooms. On its fifth and highest fan speed, the A3 suctions up to 8,560 CFM of air to produce multiple air changes per hour in even the most spacious areas of your home.

6-Stage Purification

The A3 uses a BioGS filter, which is a 4-in-1 filter package, though it offers 6 filtration levels in total. It starts with a mesh pre-filter to trap large particles before moving to the foam filter, which is designed to trap particles over 1 micron in size.

Then air makes its way into the 4-in-1 BioGS filter, consisting of a honeycomb carbon filter, a deep-bed HEPA filter, a carbon sheet, and a deodorizer. Overall, the A3 traps particles 0.3 microns and larger with 99.97% efficiency. The BioGS filter has a maximum lifespan of 12 months when running the A3 24/7.

CADR Figures

So, it’s clear that the A3 captures particles using multiple filters, but how well do they work? We’ll have to look at eh Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADR) for that. For the three categories—pollen, dust, and smoke—the A3 is rated at 315, 262, and 257 CFM. Basically, any air purifier that consistently rates over 250 CFM is a great device to have if you live nearby construction sites, with a smoker or pet, or simply want clean indoor air.

Triple-Element Sensor

The A3 doesn’t just come with a particulate matter sensor. Its smart sensor measures 3 distinct things: particles, odors, and light. The particle and odor sensors will instruct the A3 to kick it into high gear when indoor pollution and odor levels exceed tolerable levels. The light sensor keeps track of ambient light to determine when to dim the intensity of the LEDs. So, when you place it in your bedroom, you won’t have to worry about bright lights disturbing your beauty sleep.

As Quiet as 20.3 dBA

How quiet is the A3? On its lowest fan setting, this unit generates a hardly audible 20.3 dBA of noise. To put that into perspective, that’s about the same volume level as someone whispering at you from 5 feet away. On its highest fan speed, you can expect upwards of 50 dBA, which isn’t that much louder but a heck of a lot more efficient in cleaning the air.

Wall-Mountable

The A3 is one of the fanciest air purifiers for many reasons, but what sets this unit apart is that you can set it in multiple ways. First, you can place it on a floor and in the corner of a room. The air purifier comes with a wall-mounting bracket, which allows you to save floor space by keeping the unit up and off the ground. What’s even better is that you can even orient it upside-down to give you easier access to the top-facing control panel.

App Support

Like most modern-day air purifiers, the A3 offers remote controllability via your smartphone. Simply download the Rabbit Air app, install it, set it up, and sync it to the air purifier via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (you can choose either one on the control panel). The app lets you turn the device on and off, scroll between and select fan speeds and cleaning modes, and check indoor air quality status reports. While the app is easy to navigate, some users found it to be quite buggy on occasions.

Energy Star and Zero-Ozone Certified

What good would an air purifier be if it cost a ton to operate? Thankfully, this isn’t a problem with the A3. It sports the Energy Star Certification, meaning that it can maintain optimal cleaning performance while consuming very little power. It also comes with a Zero-Ozone Certification, ensuring users that it won’t produce harmful levels of ozone.

Verdict: One of the Smartest, If Not the Smartest, Air Purifier Available

The Rabbit Air A3 SPA-100N is the company’s newest and most powerful air purifier. The thin design and wall mounting options make it ideal for use in homes, workplaces, and commercial settings.

With long-lasting filters, several sensors, auto mode, and app control, the A3 is a definite must-have for those with pets, allergies, or just want clean, breathable indoor air.

Air Recommended Air Purifiers

Our Pick Perfect for bedrooms, playrooms, and living rooms, the Coway Airmega AP-1512HH is one of the best-performing, most durable, and most economical purifiers we’ve tested.

Most Popular The Levoit Core 300 air purifier has some strong suits, but in our opinion it falls short of carving out a meaningful niche for itself. Its ideal use would be in a small bedroom occupied by someone who is sensitive to noise.

Also Great With high end air cleaning performance and a whisper quiet fan, the Winix 5500-2 is the perfect combination of power and finesse. It cleared airborne particulates out of our smokey testing room faster than any other model.

Best of the Best If you have a large space you want to remove irritants from, We recommend the Airmega 400S. All of Coway air purifiers do an excellent job of attacking indoor pollutants, and we highly recommend any of them. The 400S is designed to accommodate large room sizes.
