If you’re in the market for a heavy-duty vacuum for cleaning places of business, then forget about uprights and canisters—backpack vacuums are the type for you. In this review, we’re going to see whether the Power-Flite BP6S would be an ideal choice for your floor-cleaning needs.
10.5-amp Motor
One of the first things to know about the Powr-Flite is that it’s packing a humungous 10.5-amp motor. With a rating of 130 CFM at max, the floorhead is able to suction in almost any debris you can think of, making it perfect for both home and office settings.
This backpack vacuum kit includes both a hard floor and carpet vacuum heads. The brush-less hard floor tool focuses all suction pressure to remove debris hiding in between floor boards and in tile grout. The carpet tool comes with fine bristles that dig into carpet fibers to extract debris residing just below the surface.
Lightweight
Backpack vacuum cleaners have become increasingly lighter. On an empty dust bag and without the cleaning tools, the Powr-Flite weighs a mere 9 pounds. This lightweight design shouldn’t cause cramping in the shoulder and back muscles, even after several hours of use. Combined with the fantastic harness, you’ll hardly feel like you’re carrying an entire vacuum cleaner on your back.
Ergonomic Shoulder Straps and Waist Harness
When it comes to backpack vacuum cleaners, power isn’t everything. After all, if it isn’t comfortable to wear, nobody will willingly wear it on their back. Thankfully, this isn’t an issue you have to worry about with the Powr-Flite.
The shoulder straps and waist harness were made with comfort in mind. The straps come with thick padding that make this already lightweight vacuum feel even lighter. The back is made of a woven fabric that allows heat to pass through to reduce sweating. Finally, the waist harness keeps the backpack from teetering while also storing all of the tools within reach.
3-Level Filtration + HEPA
Like any good backpack vacuum, the Powr-Flite uses a multi-stage filtration system to retain dirt and debris inside of the collection bag. With multiple levels, the motor’s powerful suction will not cause debris to fly around inside of the backpack compartment and exit through the exhaust.
Also, there’s an extra layer of HEPA media to stop invisible particles (dust mites, pollen, dander, etc.) from leaking through the bag.
50-foot Cord
A long power cord will allow users to venture freely to clean a wider radius without interruption. The Powr-Flite comes with a durable, 50-foot power cord that promotes multi-room cleaning from every outlet. Another great advantage of such a long cord is that you don’t need to unplug the tool while vacuuming staircases top to bottom.
6-quart Debris Bag
Each disposal bag can store up to six quarts of dirt and debris before needing to be tossed out. Six quarts, compared to other backpack models on the market, isn’t very much, but it also won’t add a tremendous amount of weight to the vacuum when at max capacity.
Also, we were saddened to find out that this is a bagged vacuum cleaner, not a bagless backpack like the Hoover C2401. Make sure you have plenty of bags on hand since they fill up rather quickly.
7-piece Cleaning Accessory Kit
The Powr-Flite kit includes a long list of cleaning tools that will make floor-cleaning, ceiling-cleaning, and every-in-between-cleaning a breeze. Apart from the two floorheads, you’ll also get a long-reaching four-foot cleaning hose, a dusting tool, a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, and a two-piece bent for added comfort when cleaning at awkward angles. We personally prefer a telescoping wand, but this wand setup is nothing to get upset about.
68-dBa Noise Output
Last of all, we can’t forget to talk about how relatively quiet this backpack vacuum cleaner is. At most, this unit produces a constant 68-dBa drone, or about the same volume level as background office sounds. A pair of headphones playing moderately loud music should block most of the annoying drone from penetrating your skull. By backpack vacuum cleaner standards, this is about as quiet as they get.

Verdict: Should I Get the Powr-Flite BP6S?
There’s one thing that’s absolutely certain about the Powr-Flite BP6S—it’s a beast of a backpack vacuum cleaner. The heavy-duty 10.5-amp motor produces a ton of pressure and airflow to remove surface debris from all types of floors, including low- and medium-pile carpets.
This tool would be perfect if it were bagless, especially since the bags only hold onto six quarts of dirt and debris. However, overall, we’re far from disappointed; this would make for the perfect backpack vacuum for the workplace and at home.
