200-gram Bean Hopper

While we’re on the subject of brewing your coffee starting from the grinding process, we should let you know that the E6’s bean hopper supports up to 200 grams of beans at any given time.

The grinder is protected by a basic see-through lid that creates a seal around the lip to preserve freshness for longer. The E8’s bean hopper is 80 grams larger than the E6’s—a minor difference for most but a major upside for heavy espresso addicts.

7 Programmable Specialty Drink Options

The E6’s library of drink options include coffee, espresso, cappuccino, Frappuccino, latte macchiato, milk foam, and hot water. The E8, on the other hand, has an additional 4 drink options (ristretto, latte, milk, and flat white).

Choosing between the drinks can be done by touching the buttons that correspond with the beverage option on the full-color LCD display. The Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.) brewing system creates a remarkable amount of crema. This machine allows you to adjust the strength of your coffee (5 available levels, 8 on the E8) as well as the size (up to 8 ounces).

One-Touch Cappuccino

In terms of design, one of the biggest differences between these seemingly identical espresso coffee machines is the location of the milk frother. The E8’s is found on the right side of the brew group along with a separate spout for pouring coffee.

The E8’s one-touch cappuccino system lets you produce high-quality cappuccinos with a simple push of a button, whereas the E6 pours steamed milk and hot coffee separately.

Automated Milk Steaming

While we’re talking about the milk steamer, you should also know that the E8 automatically steams and pours milk based on your beverage selection. You can also adjust how much milk is poured and the delay time between pouring milk and coffee. As for the E6, users will need to wait for the steaming process to end before manually opening and closing the milk spout.

CLEARYL Filter

One Jura-exclusive feature found in both the E6 and E8 is the tank filter. They use what’s a CLEARYL filter the traps most contaminants in order to purify the taste and smell of your selected drink. Each CLEARYL filter has a built-in RFID chip that communicates with the espresso coffee machine to let you know when to replace the filter.

The best thing about these filters is that if you change them regularly, you’ll never, EVER have to descale the machine. Descaling is done by placing a Jura descaling tablet into the specialized compartment and turning starting the brewing process.

Height Adjustable Brew Group

The brew group on both of these machines can be lifted or dropped based on the size of the glass or mug you’re using. The E8’s milk spout is placed at a higher elevation compared to the main brew group to accommodate tall glasses and tumblers for specialty milk-based coffees for the road.

Optional Jura Refrigerated Countertop Unit

One of the best accessories available for the E8 (not the E6) is the Refrigerated Countertop Unit. This large unit is made specifically to store up to 20 ounces of milk at a time for those who absolutely love milk-based coffee drinks.

The greatest thing about it is that you don’t need to put it in a fridge to chill the milk; the unit keeps milk cold indefinitely with its stainless-steel container, and it also alerts users as to when to top it off.
