3-Stage Cleaning
There’s very little reason to doubt that the s9+ is able to pick up dirt, debris, and pet hair every pass it makes. It uses a three-stage cleaning system consisting of dual multi-surface rubber brushes and powerful 2,500-Pa suction power that is up to 40 times the amount of cleaning power produced by any of the Roomba 600 series models.

Because the brushes are made of rubber, it doesn’t leave scratch marks on floorboards or tiles, and it also sweeps a lot more effectively than most robots on the market. Any dry mess you can think of, from pet food to cereal crumbs, are easily extracted out of low- and medium-pile carpets by the s9+.

PowerBoost Technology
What makes this robot vacuum even better is that it comes with a series of sensors which constantly monitor the surface it’s currently cleaning. When it transitions from smooth to carpeted floors, the s9+ will automatically kick it into high gear to deliver the 2,500-Pa suction needed to remove embedded debris.
As soon as it steps off of carpets, it drops to a lower suction level to save battery life and allow it to clean longer and father.
PerfectEdge Technology
The design of the s9+ is a lot different from traditional disc-shaped bots. The rear of the s9+ is round while the front is square-ish in shape. This odd design was purposely made to deliver better edge-cleaning performance with its one side brush.

It can fit into tight 90° corners and pick up whatever may have scattered there from a previous pass without struggle.

Intelligent Mapping and Navigation System
One of the most advanced features of the s9+ is its mapping and navigation system. This robot, like many high-end robots out there, scans its surroundings to produce an accurate digital map of your home’s floors which it accesses to create the most time and battery-efficient route.
The system, known as iAdapt 3.0 with vSLAM tech, is also able to detect the presence of obstructions in its path in order to expertly navigate around it. Everything you need to know about the robot’s cleaning path and map can be accessed and configured via the iRobot HOME app.

Linkable with the Braava jet m6
Perhaps the most unique feature of the s9+ is that it can link to the Braava jet m6 mopping bot by iRobot. When the s9+ has completed its vacuuming and sweeping cycle, it will automatically communicate with the chose jet m6 and instruct it to commence mopping.
Of course, this means you’ll need to purchase the Braava jet m6 (sold separately), but this tag-team of iRobot bots does a much better than any hybrid vacuum-mop bot could ever hope to do.
2-hour Runtime!
Despite having a tinier battery than many other robots out there (only 3,300 mAh), the s9+ is able to run for up to 120 minutes nonstop and cover up to 1,000 square feet of floors per charge.

When the battery runs low, it’ll automatically navigate its way to its floor charging dock to refuel. As soon as it has enough battery power, the s9+ will continue its cleaning cycle exactly where it left off.
CleanBase Dock
There’s almost nothing about the s9+ that’s not unique, starting from its ultra-powerful suction all the way to its charging base. The s9+ comes with a charging base, known as the CleanBase Dock, that has a vacuum built inside of it.
When the s9+’s dust cup has reached capacity, it will automatically dock onto the charging base which then suctions out the contents of the dust cup. The CleanBase Dock then tosses the contents into a disposable bag large enough to store 30 bins full of dust, hair, and debris.
This allows the s9+ to work for even longer and while requiring less of a hands-on approach by its user.
