Design

Upon purchase, the Roomba 980 comes with an extra side brush and high-efficiency filter. The extractors are designed to prevent pet hair and debris from tangling in the machine.

At 3.6″ tall, the robot navigates around and under furniture and counter edges easily. It also has a cliff sensor to recognize when it is in danger of falling and move away from the threat. The edge-sweeping brush pulls debris from along walls and in tight corners.

The iRobot Home app lets you schedule cleanings and set custom cleaning preferences from your phone. Navigating your Life

IAdapt 2.0 Navigation with visual localizations lets the Roomba navigate and clean an entire level of your home without interruptions. It can easily steer itself around obstacles and doesn’t require set boundaries, but will set them itself.

There’s no need to worry about leaving the robot on the second floor of your house as it also protects itself against any falls or potential hazards.

Automatic Work

The Roomba will recognize when it needs a recharge and head for its docking spot. It resumes cleaning once more when fully charged. There’s no need for owner interference when it comes to docking and charging the robot. When fully charged the battery allows for 120 minutes of uninterrupted work.

Virtual Wall Barriers

The Roomba comes with dual mode virtual wall barrier, batteries (AA) included, to give you more control over the area that your robot will be cleaning. With two different modes, Virtual Wall and Halo, you can have more say in how the Roomba moves around your home.

Virtual Wall mode keeps the robot out of any rooms you don’t want it wandering into. It blocks openings up to ten feet in length.

Halo mode keeps the robot away from objects you want it to avoid, either for the protection of your possessions or the bot.

As an added plus, the Dual Virtual Wall Barrier works with other models from this company.

Adaptability

iRobot has added the AeroForce cleaning system to its products, meaning that the robot’s system automatically comes out with 10x the air power when it moves to carpets and rugs.

Meticulous Debris Removal

Customer compliments have centered around the ability of the Roomba to pick up not only dirt and pet hair but debris that isn’t immediately visible to the naked eye. iRobot boasts that the high-efficiency filter can capture 99% of pollen, allergens, and particles as tiny as 10 microns.

iRobot Roomba 980: Last Words

The iRobot Roomba 980 Robot Vacuum comes in a black/brown color and is available not only from the manufacturer but outside sellers.

iRobot has made purchasing a Roomba even easier by providing the option to get the robot from an authorized reseller. Authorized resellers ensure that you’re buying an appliance that is in good working order. However, if you do choose this avenue to purchase your Roomba you no longer have the option for the manufacturer’s warranty.

iRobot has proven that every claim they’ve made about the Roomba is true. It’s an efficient, under the radar appliance that would fit in with almost any home and lifestyle.
