Ideal for small carpet stains, the Hoover ONEPWR Spotless GO is a true-to-its-word spot cleaner. The small size, lightweight housing and raised handle make this spot cleaner a breeze to carry and store. Since the ONEPWR Spotless GO is cord-free, you can use it anywhere. The battery even works with other ONEPWR appliances.
Separated tanks mean dirty water never comes into contact with the cleaning solution. The placement of the brush’s spray trigger won’t wear out your finger. You’ll also appreciate how easy it is to remove and maintain all the spot cleaner’s components. Here’s what else you’ll love about the Hoover ONEPWR Spotless GO, especially if you have pets or kids.
Only 7 Pounds
We wanted to mention was the ONEPWR Spotless GO’s weight first because it’s lighter than most. Weighing a mere 7 pounds, adults of all ages will have no problem toting it up the stairs or to the car. It’s even lightweight enough for children to use if you want them to help with the chores.
Those 7 pounds aren’t distributed throughout a bulky unit. Hoover kept handling and storage in mind, building the housing to measure 13 by 10 by 15 inches. This means the spot cleaner is small enough to fit in a tiny hall closet or unused kitchen cabinet.
For the sake of ergonomics, the raised handle on top of the spot cleaner is shaped like the letter D. Plus, it’s comfort-cushioned to fit snugly against your palm. Under the handle, there’s a power button on the top of the housing, which prevents you from accidentally pressing it.
Interchangeable ONEPWR Batteries
The Spotless GO runs on Hoover’s ONEPWR battery, which can also be used in the brand’s blowers, hand vacs and other ONEPWR appliances. A 2-ampere lithium-ion battery comes standard with the spot cleaner, giving you about 13 minutes of strong suction. If you want a longer working time, Hoover also makes 3 and 4-ampere batteries.
Instead of an adapter that you have to plug directly into the spot cleaner, the Spotless GO’s removable battery rests on an external charging cradle. The 20-volt battery is easy to detach. All you do is push a button and slide the battery out of the spot cleaner. In 3.5 hours or less, the battery fully recharges.
A Multi-Purpose Brush
On the carpet spot cleaner, there’s a flexible hose that stretches a few feet. This hose is detachable, so you can flush out sediment left behind after you remove a stain on the carpet. A clip on the bottom keeps the hose secure when you wrap it around the spot cleaner.
The multi-purpose brush that Hoover includes clicks onto the end of the hose. The brush has several rows of bundled bristles, and there are even bristles on the sides. At 4 inches wide, the brush is the perfect size for carpeted stairs and upholstered seats.
When you’re ready to start scrubbing, squeeze the tool with your hand to activate the trigger on the underside of the brush. Then, a fan of water and/or cleaning solution will spray from the nozzle. The bristled portion of the tool slides off for rinsing, and you can hook it to the handle until you need it again.
To prevent the dirty water collected by the Spotless GO from mingling with the clean water waiting to be used, Hoover added a pair of tanks as opposed to a single tank with a divider. The clean-water tank has a wide opening for no-hassle filling.
If you want to save yourself the trouble of figuring out the water/solution ratio, you can use the Paws & Claws formula, which requires no water for dilution. Hoover includes a small sample-size bottle, so you can try it for yourself without spending extra money.
The dirty-water collection tank has a capacity of 9 ounces. It contains a safety float, which stops the tank from overfilling. You can remove the tank with the push of a button to dump the water. Embedded in the housing underneath the tank, there is a debris filter that needs an occasional wipe-off.
Gets the Job Done Fast
Cordless carpet spot cleaners do exist, but they typically aren’t as robust in power as the Hoover ONEPWR Spotless GO. Between the bristles and the spraying action, the brush tool lifts stains quickly. Since this machine is specifically designed for spot removal, the battery’s runtime is long enough. However, its interchangeability is convenient.
One area where we wish Hoover did more was to extend the hose, so you won’t have to move the machine when cleaning multiple spots. Luckily, it isn’t difficult to move around. If you’re looking for a way to maintain your carpets in between yearly cleanings, it doesn’t get much better (or easier) than the ONEPWR Spotless Go.
