Ecovacs is one of the world’s leaders in robotic appliances. The Chinese tech company has been in the game since 2013 and shows no signs of slowing down. Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen amazing Ecovacs Deebot models hit the market, but some of the most notable Deebots include the N7, the N8 Pro, and the N8 Pro+.
Join us as we take an in-depth look at these Deebots and see what each robot has to offer!
Ecovacs Deebot N7
OZMO Technology – Mop and Vacuum at the Same Time!
The Ecovacs Deebot N7 is a hybrid robot that comes with vacuuming and mopping capabilities. It can perform both functions simultaneously, leaving your bare floors spotless and grit-free after just a single cycle. Best of all, when it’s performing its mopping function, it’ll automatically avoid carpeted surfaces, so you don’t have to worry about stepping on moist carpets if the Deebot N7 has anything to say about it.
While vacuuming, the Deebot N7 can suction air in at a rate of 2300 Pa, which is slightly above the industry standard for modern robots. This much power means enhanced carpet-cleaning abilities, so it gets rid of more than just surface debris. It can struggle to clean high-pile carpets at times, but a few passes should get everything out.

The Deebot N7 uses a laser-guided LiDAR navigation system to map your home’s layout and create the most efficient cleaning path possible. Because of the advanced mapping system, you can access the digital map on your smartphone via the ECOVACS app to give names to different rooms and select specific rooms for cleaning.
Since the Deebot N7 can sync with Alexa, users can also scream out commands to their smart speakers, which will relay the instructions to the robot.
Inside of the Deebot N7, you’ll find a triple-tier, high-efficiency filter that makes it the perfect robot for pet owners. The filters can trap up to 99% of dust, leaving minimal leakage and risk of dust to go airborne. It’s not a True HEPA Filter, but it’s as close as one can get.
130-Minute Runtime with Auto-Resume
Last up, let’s take a look at the Deebot N7’s battery. It sports a 3200-mAh, recharge battery that supplies up to 110 minutes of nonstop, consistent cleaning. This, combined with the large water reservoir (240 mL), means that the Deebot N7 can vacuum and mop up to 2,000 square feet of bare floors per charge.
After it runs out of juice, the robot will automatically return to its charging dock to refuel—a process that can take up to three hours from a fully depleted battery. After that, it’ll pick up exactly where it left off instead of restarting its vacuuming and mopping cycle from anew.

Ecovacs Deebot N8 Pro and Ecovacs Deebot N8 Pro+
OZMO Technology with Greater Suction Power
The Deevot N8 Pro and the N8 Pro+ are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing. The only difference between them is that one comes with a self-emptying dock, while the other does not. But before we get into that, let’s talk about what makes them the same and how they differ from the N7.
The N8 Pro and N8 Pro+ have a maximum suction rating of 2600 Pa, which is roughly 13% greater than that of the N7. In truth, there’s not a noticeable power boost between them, but from a technical standpoint, the N8 Pro and N8 Pro+ can clean carpets and remove dirt from between floorboards and tiles more efficiently than the N7. So, if you require more from your robot, just know that the N8 Pro models can deliver.

Another fancy feature that you’ll find in the N8 Pro and N8 Pro+ and not N7 is TrueDetect 3D Technology. All of the Deebots come with smart LiDAR navigation sensors, but the N8 Pro models are designed to assess and identify the location of obstacles while creating an accurate visualization of their footprints.
The end result is a more precise representation of the object’s size relative to the overall layout of your floors. Evocacs claims that TrueDetect is four times more accurate than infrared sensors while also offering twice the scanning range.

Versatility and Full App Control
One amazing feature that you’ll find in the three Deebots is limitless virtual boundaries. Using the ECOVACS app, you can access the multi-story map on your mobile device and draw no-go zones, no-mop zones (for carpets), and even have your robot clean a specific part of your home by selecting it on your phone.
Just make sure that you draw the no-mop zones as close to your carpet’s fringes for the best possible vacuuming and mopping results.
All of the robots feature OZMO capabilities, which basically means that they can mop and vacuum at the same time. One difference between the N7 and the N8 Pro models is that the N8 Pros can only vacuum and mop for 110 minutes at a time, at most—roughly 20 minutes shorter than the N7.
Don’t worry; they also have the same auto-recharge and auto-resume functions, which pretty much means that you can set up a vacuuming/mopping scheduler and let your robot clean your entire home on their own.

But the one major difference between the N7 and the N8 Pro models is their charging base. The N8 Pro and the N8 Pro+ are compatible with Ecovacs’ auto-emptying dock, which also doubles as their charging station. The auto-emptying portion is, for lack of a better term, a “vacuum” that suctions debris out of the N8 Pro and the N8 Pro+’s dustbins.
The auto-emptying tank can support as much as 30 days’ worth of debris before reaching max capacity. So, thanks to auto-recharge and resume in conjunction with the auto-emptying tank, you can leave your N8 Pro and the N8 Pro+ running for an entire month unsupervised.
So, how do the N8 Pro and the N8 Pro+ differ? The N8 Pro is compatible with the same exact auto-emptying bin that the N8 Pro+ comes with. However, you’ll have to pick that up separately, which can be fine if you’re sure that the N8 Pro is the right fit for your home but unsure whether the auto-emptying base is worth it (it is).
