To sum it up, the Dolphin Nautilus CC is a fantastic robotic pool cleaner. But, that’s only if you have a pool that is no more than 33-feet in diameter, and if your pool cleaning needs aren’t too intense. Unlike other robotic pool cleaners, this one is designed for smaller messes and smaller pools. But, if that’s what you need, then the Dolphin Nautilus CC will be a fantastic purchase.
Pros: Thorough pool cleaning, works very quickly, small and portable, easy-to-use
Cons: Slightly expensive, only works in smaller pools
CleverClean Navigation
The CleverClean smart technology ensures that this robotic cleaner always follows a logical path through your pool to ensure to hit every inch of its floor and walls. The cleaner uses a program to scan the shape of your pool’s floor to ensure total coverage, instead of relying on random patterns to try to hit every spot. No matter what the shape of your pool, this cleaner will get it done.

Top Load Filter Access
The robotic filter in this Nautilus CC has a newly designed body that includes a large easy-to-access, hinged, filter compartment, which ensures as low-hassle maintenance as possible.
After the brush looses debris, the filter filters it through two different sized filters to make sure to get larger particles like leaves, and smaller particles like dirt. The fine filter filters out particles down to 2 microns, which is smaller than what is visible to the naked eye.
The filters are held within a basket, which is a much easier system to manage as compared to a bag system. All you have to do is pop out the basket, dump the debris, and rinse the filters; before it’s good to go again. Due to its reduction in weight, now only fourteen pounds, and a fast water release system (which clocks in at a six-second drain time); its always manageable to retrieve for cleaning, even after a full cycle.

Built-In Weekly Programs
Its built-in weekly program allows you to setup exactly when you want it to run its two-hour cycles. You can even set it to run in the middle of the night or during your workday when no one is using the pool. Due to its low voltage, there is no fear of electrocution, and the pool can be used while it is running its cycle.
Active Brushing
The active scrubbing brush rotates at a rate of two times the speed of the actual cleaner to make sure to scrub the grime from the pool’s walls and floor.
Because of this, it removes grime at a much more efficient rate. This has taken the old cycle time of the previous model, the Nautilus Plus CC, of three hours to a cycle time of 2 hours.
This thirty-three percent reduction in time can hypothetically lead to an increase in lifespan as your filter can potentially spend less time in the water of your pool and more time on dry land, given that you retrieve it after it runs its cycle.

Anti Tangle Program
The anti-tangle program for the cable has been implemented to remove the older Nautilus Plus model’s swivel cable which had been implemented to help prevent tangles, which are common among robotic pool cleaners. So there should be no need for frustrating wrestling with tangled cables.
Other Bonuses
Because of its straightforward design and simplicity, you really should be able to take this robotic pool cleaner from Dolphin/Maytronics straight out of the packaging; plug it in, and let it rip through your pool’s grime. Though it may be a good idea to read through the included instructions before tucking them away to ensure you know how to use all of its features to their full potential.

The Dolphin Nautilus CC also comes with a 12-month warranty from the manufacturer. If something were to go wrong, you are covered for parts and labors. Maytronics, being as large of a company as they are; means they have authorized dealers across the country, so any repair that would be needed should have a very speedy turn around time.

Dolphin Nautilus CC: Final Thoughts
Really you can’t go wrong with this robotic pool cleaner. If it meets the price point that you are looking for, you would be hard-pressed to find a cleaner that packs as much punch as the Dolphin Nautilus CC.
There have been reported issues with the cord tangling on occasion, but, with the very fast cycle time, active brushing, programmability, and ease of pool cleaning; a bit of detangling doesn’t seem like a deal breaker in the long run.

Looking around the web, I see dealers have the Dolphin Nautilus and the Dolphin Advantage right around $640. I don’t see much of a difference between the two, but one or two sites say the Advantage is made for above ground pools. If so, is there any reason the advantage couldn’t be used for a smaller in-ground pool? Do both of these use the clever clean technology? If so, what would you recommend for an inground pool within the 30 foot diameter limit?
The Dolphin E10 is, in our opinion, one of the best affordable above ground robotic pool cleaners for smaller pools. Maybe have a look at that one!
