Got your eyes on the Coway Airmega 300 Smart Air Purifier, but not quite sure if it’s for you? Take a look at our review below to discover everything it has to offer so you can work out whether it’s a good fit for you and your family’s health and wellbeing.
Let’s dive straight in with the basics.
Table of Contents
When you buy the Coway Airmega 300, you’ll be getting a relatively lightweight and compact air purifier. Weighing in at 21.4lbs, this is the perfect purifier to lift into your home. Whilst it doesn’t have castor wheels to help you transport it around your home, it is easy to pick up and move around without causing any aches and pains, which is a great start.
Furthermore, with dimensions reaching 13.58 x 20.94 x 13.58 inches in total, you won’t find this air purifier sticks out awkwardly. In fact, it’ll slot right into any free corners you’ve got. With that height too, you won’t have to worry about it interfering with your décor. It’s by no means an ugly unit though. With its stylish exterior you may even feel sorry that you can’t keep it on display.
Monitor Your Home’s Air Quality in Real Time
With its state of the art air pollution indicator, you can stay informed about your home’s air quality at any point in time.
This smart air purifier has a colorful LED light indicator to give you answers on demand, with a blue ring indicating good air quality, green for moderate quality, yellow for unhealthy air quality and red for terrible air quality.
This gives you the edge to know exactly when you need to turn the Coway Airmega 300 on, and to which fan speed, which will immediately alleviate any negative air effects. Luckily, this air purifier can purify up to 1,256 sq ft per hour too, so it’s perfect for small to medium sized rooms, no matter which fan speed you choose.
Of course, you could just let it do its own thing. With smart technology installed in the Coway 300, it’ll automatically adapt to the correct fan speed to give you the best air output when it’s left on automatic. This is an incredibly energy efficient mode that could save you higher costs on your monthly bills – a fantastic extra feature from the Coway team.
How Does It Work?
The Coway Airmega 300 Smart Air Purifier works twice as hard thanks to its dual suction. In fact, it’ll draw in polluted air from both sides of the unit, and push out fresh, clean air out of the top of the unit.
It’s equipped with 2 filters to make the air you breathe even cleaner: a pre-filter, and a Max2 filter.
First, contaminated air will pass through the pre-filter, where it’ll catch large particles of waste such as hair, pet furs, and dust. This stops too big particles from getting through to the Max2 filter – ensuring that it has an easier task. This pre-filter is easy to remove and clean after a few uses, and doesn’t need to be replaced.
The second port of call for the rest of the pollutants in the air is the Max2 filter. This is actually a combined, two-filter tag team: a HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. The activated carbon filter ensures that all aggressive odors are trapped and stored, leaving behind a clean and refreshing scent.
The HEPA filter captures tiny micro-particles and airborne pollutants that can cause allergies, leaving you and your family with healthier air to breathe.
Because the Max2 filter works so hard, it’s important to change it every so often, and to make this easier, the Coway Airmega 300 is equipped with a change filter indicator. This’ll tell you everything you need to know about your filter – including whether it needs cleaning, and how much air it’s actually processed.
Is There an App for That?
Yes, the Coway Airmega 300 comes with an app, where you can schedule cleans, check on progress and even change the speed of the fan from the comfort of your seat, or even better, when you’re out and about. This can be a super helpful way to keep on top of your home’s air and a smart way to stay prepared.
We love the Coway Airmega 300 Smart Air Purifier for keeping our homes safe from pollutants and contaminated air. It’s got smart technology and an even smarter air filter system for everything you need morning through night.
