Introduction

The Bissell 2039A SpinWave is not to be classed as any other mop-and-bucket cleaning mop. This product is powered by 6.7 meters of power cord which uses a single power outlet. It can cover a relatively large area for cleaning. The unit only weighs about 5kg, making it moderately lightweight and easy to move around.

This is heavier than the old unpowered mop but does not involve having to carry around that heavy bucket of water or cleaning solution! This mop makes use of cord wraps since it does not have an automatic cord rewind mechanism.

Cleaning Pads

The Bissell 2039A SpinWave makes use of two cleaning pads that clean the floors by rotating. These rotating pads pick up the dirt while cleaning. A low height cleaning head with the swivel steering SpinWave mop enables the unit to clean those hard to reach places around the edges of your furniture and along the wall areas.

The Bissell SpinWave has two soft cleaning pads that can be used for gentle cleaning of sealed hardwood or laminate flooring. Stone, marble, and tiles will also benefit from the use of these soft cleaning pads. Tough and sticky messes can be removed with the use of the two scrubby cleaning pads.

These cleaning pads may be used on all types of floors, although you should be careful on sensitive floors

Cleaning pads will need to be replaced after some time, but they can be removed and machine washed when dirty, for reuse. It is best to quickly vacuum a larger area with a normal vacuum cleaner before cleaning, without having to remove the pads from the Bissell.

This unit tends to vibrate if the pads are not aligned properly when they are changed. Centering the pads is very simple once you have done this several times.

BISSELL SpinWave Cleaning Solution

A mixture of cleaning formula and tap water makes up the cleaning solution which is then stored in the onboard tank of the Bissell SpinWave. The cleaning solution should be sprayed onto the floor surface as required. Spray the cleaning solution directly onto dirt or difficult to remove and stubborn stains when required.

It is essential that you make sure your laminate or wooden floors are sealed before doing this, as you do not want the cleaning solution to enter the wood. Wood that is subjected to increased moisture may buckle and even rot. To avoid scratching and damage, only soft cleaning pads should be used on floors that are sensitive.

The power on/off switch and cleaning solution spray button is positioned on the handle, from where the mop can be easily controlled.

Bissell 2039A SpinWave

The most common Bissell SpinWave Cleaning Formulas are Bissell Multi-Surface Cleaning Formula, which is best used on low-pile carpets, area rugs, laminate, tiles, and sealed hardwood floors. The freshness and cleanness are increased by the fresh scent of a spring breeze.

Bissell Wood Floor Cleaning Formula freshens floors with its natural lemon scent and restores the shine of wood floors. Tap water is added to both cleaning formulas.

BISSELL SpinWave Tank

The cleaning solution tank is easily filled by removing it and filling it with Bissell’s recommended cleaning formula that has been mixed with tap water. Using warm water will improve your cleaning while hot water may damage your Bissell mop unit. It is important to note that this mop does not have a built in water heater.

Make sure you understand exactly how your mop works by reading your manual through thoroughly before assembling and using.

Conclusion: BISSELL 2039A SpinWave

Although the automatic cord rewind system is nice to have, this would only increase the complexity and weight of the unit. A price increase would also be a factor. A cordless version may be interesting.

Even though cleaning pads pick up moisture and dirt, floors may become streaked in areas where tap water is hard.

Demineralized or distilled water may be a better solution in such instances. Your floors will be left really shiny even though this will cost a little more.

The Bissell SpinWave Powered Hard Floor Mop is the solution that saves both time and effort during the maintenance and cleaning of hard floors.

It is credited with getting the cleaning of hard floors done easier and faster, although it may be heavier than the conventional mop. This is also a very affordable unit.
