Does this portable carpet cleaner belong in your home? Read our full review to find out (spoiler alert: yes, yes it does).
Concentrated Deep-Cleaning Machine
Let’s talk about what the Little Green is all about. This portable carpet cleaner is a deep-cleaning machine that removes stubborn stains from any soft surface including upholstery and auto interior.
The greatest thing is that there’s actually very little work involved—simply spray a bit of the clean water solution onto the stain and use one of the cleaning tools to scrub until the stain is permanently removed.
Pet owners will appreciate the awesome spot-cleaning performance of the Little Green. Whether you’re dealing with old urine stains or fresh “other” messes, the Little Green’s amazing suction and stiff-bristle cleaning tools really makes easy work out of otherwise stressful cleaning.
48-ounce Dual Tank System
The Little Green is packing two tanks that are far from little. With a combined capacity of 48 ounces, the dual tank system allows you to clean a wider surface area before needing to refill. A little bit of the included cleaning solution really goes a long way when dealing with any kind of stain.
Filling up the clean water tank couldn’t be easier. There are clear indicators that let you know how much hot water and solution to pour in for both small-area and large-area cleaning. Both of the tanks detach from the unit to reduce the amount of spillage when filling or emptying them out.
Heatwave Technology
The most unique feature of this Bissell portable carpet cleaner is Heatwave Technology. When filling the clean water tank with hot water, you won’t need to worry about a significant drop in temperature as you work.
Built-in heaters keep the water at a steady temperature several degrees above room temp to produce the dissolving power that only heated water can achieve. When using the Little Green to remove urine stains, be sure to fill the tank with cold water and switch off Heatwave.
15-foot Cord
As a portable carpet cleaner, you shouldn’t expect to get a massively long power cord for increased reach. The Little Green comes with a moderate 15-foot power cord that wraps around a dedicated hook on the back of the tool to keep it safe during storage.
The cord is long enough to allow a sufficient radius of movement for spot-cleaning concentrated stains on carpets, carpeted steps, auto interior, and upholstery.
2 Handy Cleaning Tools
The Little Green only comes with two cleaning tools—a 3-inch tough-stain tool and a deep-stain tool. The first spot-cleaning tool is like any other; it has stiff bristles situated near the suction inlet to let you scrub stubborn stains away while simultaneously pulling moisture out of your carpets. You’ll mostly use this tool to eliminate stains from wide, flat surfaces.
The real star is the deep-stain tool. This triangular spot-cleaning tool has bristled set on three different sides to make cleaning stairs a heck of a lot easier on the user. Not only does it clean each stair tread easily, but by rotating the tool, you can use it to clean risers and nosing without twisting your wrist.
HydroRinse Self-Cleaning Hose Tool
Cleaning the Little Green after a hard day of work is easier than you can imagine. It comes with a HydroRinse accessory that’s used to flush the inner lining of the 4.5-foot suction hose free of accumulated dirt and hair.
To use this tool, replace the tough-stain or deep-stain tool from the edge of the cleaning hose with the HydroRinse. Hold the hose upright at 90° and turn the machine on for 30 seconds while pulling the trigger. All lingering debris should now be inside of the dirty water tank and ready for disposal.
9-pound Build
Did we mention that the Little Green is a compact unit? This portable carpet cleaner weighs a mere 9 pound (dry weight) fully assembled and with all cleaning attachments stored on board the machine. Needless to say, moving the unit up and down stairs our outside shouldn’t be too much trouble. Its tiny profile also allows for quick and easy storage after a day of cleaning.

Verdict: Should I Get the Bissell Little Green 2513G?
