This air purifier comes with a variety of excellent features that you’ll have a hard time finding on most other air purifiers. However, because of those features, it does cost a bit more money than some of the other purifiers on the market.

What Features Does The Air400 Offer?
Right from the start, you’ll notice that it’s quite large, and rather heavy, weighing nearly twenty-six pounds. Now, this isn’t that unusual for an air purifier, but it can be slightly jarring. For this reason, it works best in rooms that are around three-hundred to four-hundred square-feet.
The design resembles a large, tall, black rectangle, with a slight shade of silver on certain parts of the unit. Aesthetically, it’s quite pleasing, due to its overall simplicity. On the front of the unit, there is a small screen that displays the air quality of the room that the purifier is in.
These measurements are obtained through the use of sensors built into the Air400, allowing the device to see just how many particles are in the air, leading to the feedback that is displayed.

Filters
Air is pulled in, from the back of the unit, through three individual filters. These filters include a pre-filter, an activated carbon filter, and, last but not least, a HEPA filter which allows the unit to capture most small particles, such as bacteria, germs, pollen, and dust, for example.
The second filter – the activated carbon filter – is one-inch thick, and this makes it incredibly effective for capturing any odors or stenches and eliminating them.
While you are given the option to adjust the settings, with regards to air flow manually, the device does it for you based on the air quality of the room that you are in. This is very convenient, especially if you run it throughout the day. Overall, the device requires very little oversight on your end.
There is a “Night Mode,” which means that if you’re using this device in your bedroom, you can turn off the Air400’s light, and dim the other features, making it easier for you to sleep.
What about the Noise?
Now, there isn’t any mode or setting to “quiet” the device, because it’s very quiet, to begin with. It doesn’t make a lot of noise, due to the effective design of the entire machine, and the placement of the filters.
Regarding energy usage and efficiency, on the Air400’s highest setting, it uses seventy-five watts. In comparison to many of the other air purifiers on the market, this is VERY good.
Most other air purifiers use quite a bit more than this, and they tend to not be as energy efficient.
As for how this power is used, it is used to change the air three-times, every-hour, when on the highest operating mode. Ensuring that your air is nice and clean.

Is This The Right Air Purifier For Me?
If you are looking for a premium air purification unit that will easily purify the air in a room that is around three-hundred to four-hundred square-feet, than yes, it definitely is!
However, if you don’t have a room of that size, or don’t need this level of air purification, then there are other models that are just as good – many of them made by Bissell – that will fulfill your needs, as well, without the heavy price tag and large size.
The Bissell air400 Air Purifier is intended to be top-of-the-line, and it is, but if that’s not what you need, then it’s best to find something a little simpler.
