Eufy RoboVac Robotic Vacuums

Eufy 11

A strong brushroll and a pair of side brushes work hard to remove debris from hard floors and low-pile carpet, and a wide screen protects the main filter and its sponge layer. In max-suction mode, the RoboVac 11 reaches 1,000 pascals of pickup performance. You also have your choice of edge, spot, auto and single-room mode.

Eufy RoboVac 11 Robotic Vacuum Review

The brushed gunmetal gray top is protected by scratch-resistant tempered glass, and the pressure-responsive bumper contains some of the robot’s 11 navigational sensors. At 3.1 inches tall, the Eufy RoboVac 11 can easily clean under many types of furniture.

Inside the RoboVac 11, there’s a powerful lithium-ion battery, which provides up to 90 minutes of runtime. When the battery is low, the robot can self-dock and recharge. The raised chrome onboard button lets you start an auto-clean session while turn-by-turn driving, manually docking and other cleaning modes are accessible via the display-equipped remote.

Eufy 11S (Slim)

With the RoboVac 11S (Slim), the suction is stronger than its predecessors. It only takes 1.5 seconds for the robot to generate 1,300 pascals of force thanks to Eufy’s BoostIQ redesign. Plus, the suction is quiet at 55 decibels. On this robotic vacuum, there are also two side sweepers and a wide brushroll.

Eufy also slimmed down the 11S to 2.85 inches, which is why this model has an S in its name. Like the ones that came before it, the 11S comes equipped with infrared sensor navigation, a tempered glass top and auto-docking technology. The filtration system consists of three layers and a 20-ounce bin. It even climbs a little higher – up to 0.63 inches.

Eufy RoboVac 11S (Slim) Robotic Vacuum Review

The battery lasts for an hour when in BoostIQ mode and 100 minutes when vacuuming hard-surface floors. You can override BoostIQ, manually navigate the robot and choose from auto, edge, single-room and spot clean with the remote control.

Eufy 11S Plus

Enhanced suction makes the RoboVac 11S Plus> a powerful cleaning force. Although its 1,500-pascal when the suction increases is impressive, the low sound output of 55 decibels is the real wow factor. Along with the suction system, the 11S Plus has a brushroll and two helper brushes.

Faint pinstripes on the glossy, tempered-glass top give the robotic vacuum a little pizzazz. Its slim height of 2.85 inches lets it go where many competing models can’t travel. Infrared stair and obstacle avoidance tell the robot where to clean, and the pop-out bin and high-performance filter set collect what it lifts.

Eufy RoboVac 11S Plus Robotic Vacuum Review

When it runs on regular suction strength for an entire battery cycle, the Eufy 11S Plus can vacuum for 100 minutes.

Its auto-recharging function and remote offer operational conveniences. With the remote, you can choose from four cleaning modes, manual suction control and multi-directional drive.

Eufy RoboVac 11S MAX

Nothing can escape the RoboVac 11S MAX. Its 2,000-pascal automatic suction increase means that medium-pile carpet and heavy debris are no problem. A brushless motor dampens the sound to 55 decibels, and the three-point cleaning system includes a pair of side-sweeping brushes plus a heavy-duty rolling brush.

The all-in-one pleated filter in the 20.3-ounce dirt box is easy to clean. Three drop sensors and a bunch of obstacles sensors make up the 2.85-inch-tall 11S MAX’s navigational system. A tempered glass covere maintains the housing’s integrity during the robot’s 100-minute per-charge runtime.

Eufy RoboVac 11S MAX Robotic Vacuum Review

While the 11S MAX does auto-dock to the base, you can dock it yourself with the remote. The remote control also lets you increase and decrease the suction at will, steer the robot and pick from four types of vacuuming modes. In addition, a simple-to-start auto-clean button is located on the robot itself.

Eufy 12

The RoboVac 12 can handle the needs of all kinds of flooring, including area rugs. It’s equipped with two brushes on the side and one double-V brushroll on the undercarriage. In less than 2 seconds after detecting a large pile of dirt, BoostIQ increases the suction to 1,500 pascals and delivers it to the triple-layered filter and 0.6-liter bin.

A sheet of tempered glass is affixed to the top of the Eufy RoboVac 12, so the pinstripe surface won’t become scratched. The robot comes complete with infrared collision and fall sensors and a high-capacity battery, which lats from 60 to 100 minutes after the RoboVac 12 automatically recharges itself.

Eufy RoboVac 12 Robotic Vacuum Review

To control what the ultra-slim robot does, you get an onboard auto-vacuum button as well as a remote. The remote offers other functions besides random-pattern auto clean, including the spiral-pattern spot clean, the perimeter-following edge clean and the short-lasting single-room mode.

Eufy 15C

It ramps up to 1,300 pascals in under 2 seconds thanks to BoostIQ automatic suction increase. The Eufy RoboVac 15C is quiet, generating a level of sound akin to a face-to-face conversation. On the underside of the robot, there is a double-helix brushroll plus two side brushes. A 0.6-liter dust box, high-efficiency filter and two-layered pre-filter help contain allergens.

Due to its multiple-cell lithium-ion battery, the 15C vacuums for as many as 100 minutes after every full auto-charging session. Nine obstacle-detection sensors work with the 15C’s fall-avoidance sensors to navigate the pinstriped and tan-trimmed robot safely. Its height of 2.85 inches and sizeable climbing wheels make the robot agile yet robust.

You can even pair this RoboVac with an Alexa or Assistant device for voice-command functionality.

Eufy 15T

The variable-speed brushless motor in the RoboVac 15T reduces friction, keeping the noise level between 55 and 65 decibels. With the inclusion of BoostIQ technology, the robot is able to kick up the suction to 1,500 pascals when faced with concentrated messes while a pair of side sweepers and a brushroll aid in the suction system’s dirt-lifting endeavor.

A maximum working time of 100 minutes gives the robot plenty of time to fill up its rinsable dirt box. Three steps of filtration provide excellent protection from allergens. A set of heavy-duty wheels handles floor transitions with ease. Since the robot measures fewer than 2.9 inches, it can suction away those dust bunnies under your bed.

Eufy RoboVac 15T Upgraded Robotic Vacuum Review

Touch controls on the faux-textured top panel offer controls for auto clean, spot clean and instant dock. More functions are available on the remote control than what’s accessible via the tempered glass top. Like most of Eufy’s RoboVacs, the Eufy 15T comes with a 12-month warranty.

Eufy 30

Eufy’s second-generation of BoostIQ technology puts the RoboVac 30’s top suction speed at 1,500 pascals automatically whenever it locates extra-dirty spots. A brushroll with strategically aligned bristles and a pair of side brushes round out its debris-lifting system. The Eufy 30 model is also self-charging and boasts a maximum runtime of 100 minutes.

Its bin has a capacity of 20.3 ounces, and it’s easy to remove from the side of the robot. The filters are well-adept at trapping allergens, and its wheels can manage heights of 0.63 inches. Infrared sensors ensure that the robot won’t fall down the stairs or collide with an object. Eufy even includes a 13.2-foot roll of boundary strip, so you can customize no-go zones.

eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30, Upgraded

Tempered glass on the 2.85-inch-tall robotic vac prevents scratches from destroying the pinstripe finish. An onboard button allows for quick-start cleaning. You also get a remote control with a display screen. Via the remote, four cleaning modes are at your disposal along with suction override and robot piloting.

Eufy 30C

Standard residential carpet is easy for the Eufy 30C to vacuum thanks to its brushroll, two side brushes and 1.5-second-increasing, 1,500-maximum BoostIQ suction. Eufy X8

The RoboVac X8 is one of two new robot vacs belonging to the Eufy RoboVac X series. This unit uses a Twin-Turbine suction system that delivers 2 x 2,000 Pa of suction power that, collectively, picks up more debris in each pass hidden in between floorboards and carpet fibers.

Eufy RoboVac X8

One feature that you won’t find in many robots is UltraPack Dust-Compression. The X8’s Twin Turbines force more air into the robot, compacting all suctioned debris into the farthest corner of the 600-ml dustbin before filling the rest. This supposedly allows the X8 to vacuum floors for longer with infrequent emptying out, which is a huge plus considering the robot doesn’t come with a self-emptying base.

You’ll find state-of-the-art navigation in the RoboVac X8, which also includes multi-floor mapping. After mapping out your home, it’ll dedicate all 180 minutes of its battery life to clean any part of your room you designate using the EufyHome smartphone app.

Eufy X8 Hybrid

The RoboVac X8 Hybrid is identical to the X8 in more ways than they differ, starting with their Twin-Turbine suction, UltraPack Dust-Compression, and highly advanced mapping and programmable cleaning modes. The main difference that you’ll find between them is that the X8 Hybrid is—as its name suggests—a hybrid robot.

X8 Hybrid

The X8 Hybrid gives you the option to connect a mop attachment to its underside. The mop attachment consists of a microfiber cloth and a 250-ml clean-water tank. Unboxing the X8 Hybrid will reveal multiple disposable pads and a single washable one, which has an estimated lifespan of six months, give or take.

In terms of cleaning performance, it vacuums bare and carpeted surfaces like nothing else. Mopping, however, is just as simplistic as any other hybrid robot. It doesn’t actively scrub your floors, but it does a decent enough job to produce a shine after one or two sessions.

Final Words

Choosing the Eufy RoboVac That’s Right for You

While all of these RoboVac models are suitable for small and large homes, picking the right one is hard since there are so many models from which to choose. We suggest you make your choice based on your most important need.

Best Eufy Robotic Vacuums

Think about the type of flooring you have, the amount of furniture in your home and whether you need to block off certain areas. If you live a busy lifestyle or want to integrate the robo vac into your smart home lineup, those factors should also be considered.

Although every model is slim, the RoboVac models 11S through 35C are 0.25 inches shorter than the 11 and 11+, allowing them to fit under more low-sitting furniture. With a maximum suction power of 1,000 to 1,300 pascals, the 11, 11+, 11C, 11S, 12 and 15C are best suited for homes with hard floors and Berber carpet.

Best Eufy Robot Vacuums

The 11S+, 11S MAX, 15C MAX, 15T, 25C, 30, 30C and 35C are made for carpet as their suction ranges from 1,500 to 2,000 pascals of suction. If there are areas you want to protect with boundary tape, the 30, 30C and 35C are equipped with hall sensors that can detect these magnetic strips.

Busy people who find themselves away from home often need a robotic vacuum they can control with a smartphone app. The 11C, 15C, 15C MAX, 25C, 30C and 35C are all compatible with the EufyHome app, which even offers programmed scheduling. Those who want a robo vac they can integrate into their smart home should consider the 15C MAX, 25C, 30C and 35C as these models work with Alexa and Assistant.

Eufy Robot Vacuum Buying Guide

One aspect of Eufy robotic vacuums that we like is the slight variation from one model to the next. This approach means consumers get every feature they want and none that they don’t. In a way, it’s like buying a robotic vacuum that’s been customized just for you. Our buying guide explains the particulars of Eufy’s robot vacuum features.

Housing Differences

Before we talk about the differences in the Eufy robotic vacuums’ housing, you should know there is one unwavering feature on all 11 robots currently in production. Each RoboVac measures a mere 2.85 inches tall. Any height under 3 inches is beneficially short for a robotic vacuum as these robots are able to fit under common sofas and beds.

Eufy Robot Vacuum

Many of Eufy’s robotic vacuums are excellent climbers. While the 11S Max is able to clear thresholds and floor transitions of up to 0.59 inches, the 11S, 15C, 15C Max and 30C can climb slightly higher – 0.63 inches. However, all the robotic vacuum cleaners have non-slip, anti-marking tread.

To boost their robustness, Eufy added a tempered glass top to some of its robots, including the 11S Max, 12 and 15C. The advantage of tempered glass is its ability to resist scratches. Usually, if a robotic vacuum has a tempered glass top, the finish will be glossy, but this is not a hard-and-fast rule.

1,300 to 2,000 Pascals

Suction is one function where Eufy has put a lot of its technological advancement efforts. The 11S and 15C top out at 1,300 pascals of suction. Although 1,300 pascals is strong enough to clean medium-pile carpeting in between deep-vacuuming sessions, and it’s certainly powerful enough for hard floors, some people need more.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S (Slim) Robot Vacuum Cleaner Review

With the 12, 15T, 25C, 30, 30C and 35C, you get 1,500 pascals for deeper carpet cleaning. Every Max model generates a whopping 2,000 pascals. If you have pets and kids who track hair and dirt through your home, you’ll need one of the Max models.

No matter the Eufy model you buy, you still get the help of the brand’s BoostIQ technology. Now that the first generation of this technology is phased out, BoostIQ works automatically. Pressure sensors increase the suction within 1.5 seconds when additional cleaning power is needed. However, you have the option of manually controlling BoostIQ.

Long Battery Runtime

We can’t stress the importance of a robotic vacuum’s battery enough. The length of time the battery can hold a charge plays a major role in how many square feet the robot vacuum can clean per cycle and the size of home for which it’s best suited.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S MAX Robot Vacuum Review

Eufy made sure all of its RoboVac robots could handle the demands of small and large homes, sticking with the same battery for each model. The battery contains lithium-ion, which means the suction won’t fade as the charge level is reduced.

These batteries have a capacity of 2,600 milliamperes. Therefore, they last 50 to 100 minutes. You get the longest runtime when BoostIQ isn’t engaged while vacuuming bare floors. On average, the recharge time ranges from 5 to 6 hours, and all RoboVacs automatically drive to the dock to charge the battery.

Infrared Sensors and Magnetic Tape

In terms of sensor type, there is no variation. Each Eufy RoboVac is equipped with infrared sensors, which are basic but reliable. Some are affixed into the side of the robots – These sensors detect the presence of obstacles. Others are found in the robots’ undercarriage, and those are designed to detect drop-offs such as stairs.

Eufy [BoostIQ] RoboVac 30C Review

With the 30, 30C, 30C Max and 35C, Eufy includes 13 feet of boundary strips. Boundary strips are actually magnetic tape that you can cut to create physical lines and zones. When the robots’ hall sensors detect the tape, they won’t cross into the blocked-off area.

Wi-Fi and Non-Wi-Fi Controls

The style of controls differs widely. If you’re taking your smart-home journey one step at a time, Eufy’s 11S, 11S Max, 12, 15T and 30 come with a standard remote. This remote has functions for all four cleaning modes, manual drive, suction adjustment and programmed scheduling.

If you want more from your robotic vacuum, Eufy has you covered. Wi-Fi connectivity is available with every “C” model. The smartphone app has all the functions found on the remote as well as a robot locator. You can also pair them an Alexa or Assistant speaker to give voice commands like start, stop and dock.

Most of the RoboVacs only have a single push button on the top panel that you use to begin a regular cleaning session. However, if you are looking for a sleeker setup, the 15T, 25C and 35C have a touch panel with start/pause, spot-clean and dock buttons.

FAQs

How Do I Clean a Eufy Robo Vac’s Dirt Bin?

Even if you dump it daily, which we recommend, small bits of fine particles will accumulate on the tank wall over time. Like many other robotic vacuums, most of the 20-ounce bins on Eufy’s robots can be cleaned by wiping the inside with a dry cloth. However, the 15T and 25C have a bin you can rinse with water.

Eufy Robotic Vacuum

What Is the Main Advantage of Having a Eufy RoboVac?

With a Eufy robotic vacuum, you get as much technology as you want without having to pay through the nose. The most advanced RoboVac models are equipped with a tempered glass top and smartphone app/voice assistant control. These are features typically found on robots at least twice the price of Eufy’s most expensive models.

You even get quality technology on Eufy’s basic robotic vacuums, including BoostIQ suction-adjusting sensors and a 2,600 mAh lithium-ion battery. Together, BoostIQ and the battery allow each one of Eufy’s 11 robots to push enough suction to clean carpets, and the battery lasts long enough to do so in large homes.

Doesn’t Eufy Own Other Brands?

No. Eufy is one of five companies owned by Anker Innovations. While Eufy concentrates on robotic vacuum engineering, it also makes smart security cameras, smart light bulbs and even smart body scales. Currently, Eufy has offices in Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Also under Anker Innovations is the similarly named Anker, which produces portable batteries and wireless chargers. Soundcore focuses on speakers and headphones. Roav makes dashcams and smart car chargers while Nebula offers amazing projectors.

Are the Filters Any Good for Allergy Sufferers?

Eufy robots either have a two-part or a unibody filter. The two-part filter consists of a double-layered pre-filter and a high-performance filter. This filter set lasts about 3 months. The Max models come with a unibody filter. Its diagonal pleats and sturdy construction offer a longer lifespan. Allergy sufferers will benefit from the enhanced efficiency of the unibody filter.

Eufy Robot Vacuum Reviews

How Do Infrared Sensors Work?

Every robotic vacuum has a few infrared sensors. Infrared sensors use a light on the infrared wavelength spectrum, which ranges from 700 nanometers to 1 millimeter. The light that emits from the sensor bounces off nearby surfaces and returns. Then, the sensor measures the reflected light’s brightness and return time to determine the distance between that surface and the robot.

Eufy [BoostIQ] RoboVac 30C Robot Vacuum Review

Cliff and obstacle sensors are the two most common robo vac sensors. Cliff sensors are embedded in the robot’s floor plate. These sensors measure the distance to the floor underneath them. If the light takes too long to return, the sensors consider it to be a step or other drop-off, causing the robot to change direction.

Obstacle sensors are usually built into the robot’s bumper. They work the same way that cliff sensors do, correcting their course to account for objects in the robot’s path. Some robots are programmed to slow their speed when their sensors detect obstacles.

Why Does the Brushroll Shape Matter?

Brushrolls vary by bar and bristles. Some have straight bars while others have angled ones. Bristles may be thick or sparse and lined to create different shapes such as a helix, a V or a line. Some setups are better suited for carpets than others.

Eufy Robot Vacuum Guide

Out of all the brushroll configurations, a straight bar with straight-lined bristles is the least effective at lifting dirt from carpeting. If you have medium-pile carpet, you should aim for a robot with an angled brushroll. Its bristles should form a V or a helix pattern, and the bristles should be thickly bunched.

All of Eufy’s robo vacs have a brushroll with the aforementioned features. You don’t need any tools to remove it. Instead, just press the release tabs on the brushroll guard. Overall, the Eufy brushroll is effective at cleaning carpets and convenient to maintain.

What’s the Big Deal About a Lithium-Ion Battery?

When it comes to the batteries used for robotic vacuums, nothing beats a lithium-ion battery. They have a high energy density, which means you’ll get a long runtime without end-cycle suction loss. Many batteries last through 1,000 or more cycles (one cycle is a complete discharge and recharge), and they lose very little charge during periods of non-use.

Can Robot Vacuums Handle Pet Hair?

Some can handle pet hair with no problem. If you have cats or dogs, a robotic vacuum’s brushroll configuration, suction strength and filtration media will be of particular importance to you.

The bristles need to be tough enough to pull clingy fur from carpet fibers, and the suction should be strong enough to send the hair to the dirt bin. The robot will also need a pre-filter and a high-efficiency filter (separate or combined) to prevent clogs and particle escapes. Eufy’s robot vacuum cleaners meet all these requirements.

Do Robotic Vacuums Detail a Floor?

It depends on what you mean by detail clean. If you mean buff it to a shine, no. Robotic vacuums don’t come with rotating buffing pads. Even if they did, these appliances can’t apply enough pressure to buff a floor.

However, many robot vacuums, including Eufy robots, clean small messes and sweep baseboards, wall edges and corners. To take care of an isolated area of dirt, spot-clean mode will move the robot in a spiral over the dirty area. For baseboard/wall line/corner cleaning, edge mode moves the robot along walls and uses a side brush to sweep away dirt.

Can I Use Robot Vacuums on Plush Area Rugs?

Unfortunately, there are limitations to a robotic vacuum’s cleaning capabilities. Plush carpets and rugs such as those with fibers made of wool or olefin are too thick and long. If you try to use a robotic vacuum on plush carpet, the wheels will get tangled and stuck, and the brushroll and suction will struggle to collect debris.

On the other hand, if you have standard residential carpet with pile of a medium height, there are many robotic vacuums that can clean it thoroughly, including all of Eufy’s robots. Low-pile carpet such as Berber is a manageable task for any robotic vacuum regardless of the brushroll style or suction strength.

Can I See a Map If My Robot Vacuum Is Smartphone Compatible?

The convenience of a viewable map is unquestionable. Of course, to have access to a visible map of your home, the robotic vacuum must be enabled with a Wi-Fi connection and compatible with a smartphone app.

However, other components are necessary for mapping, and they don’t come on all Wi-Fi enabled robot vacuums. The robot needs software specifically designed for mapping and a memory big enough to recall the map. Additionally, an optical sensor is needed to record data points.

Will I Still Have to Use a Regular Vacuum?

Hands-off convenience is the major appeal of robotic vacuums, and many are rather impressive in terms of pickup power. Emptying the bin and periodic light maintenance is all that’s required of you. If the robot connects to your home’s Wi-Fi network, you can control it from anywhere as long as you have cell service.

Despite all the advantages that robotic vacuums offer, none of them rival the power of an upright or a canister vacuum. Although a robot vacuum is great for day-to-day carpet cleaning, you still need to deep vacuum once a week. For that, a regular vacuum is must.
