#5 Dolphin Nautilus
You don’t have to be in tip-top shape to drop and retrieve the Dolphin Nautilus from your swimming pool. This Performance model only weighs 16.5 pounds when dry and about double that when wet.
However, like all the Dolphin robotic pool cleaners, the Nautilus quickly releases water when lifted. The 60-foot cable features Maytronics’ ingenious swivel system that fully rotates to avoid knotting.
Designed for in-ground swimming pools, the Nautilus is also powerful. It’s equipped with a pair of brushes that scrub and loosen as they rotate on dual tracks. Thanks to its strong suction, the robot can lift all sorts of light and heavy debris.
The Dolphin Nautilus gives you full-level filtration that captures fine particles and ultra-fine particles. Filter maintenance only takes a few minutes.
Agile and efficient, the Nautilus CC is designed to clean your pool, effortlessly
The filters snap into a frame, which loads from the bottom of the robot. To remove and rinse them, pop off the filters from the frame.
The Nautilus always navigates along the most efficient route, taking the shortest detour around obstacles while it moves in a logical pattern.
Maytronics rates the Nautilus for use in 50-foot or smaller swimming pools. Even when used in pools near or at the 50-foot maximum, the robot’s time to clean is short, at just 3 hours.
For the controls, simplicity rules. The power supply has a looped carrying handle and an easy-to-read digital screen.
There is only one button, which starts and stops the robotic cleaner. If you’re worried about your electricity bill, don’t be. It only costs pennies a day to run the Nautilus.

#4 Dolphin Nautilus CC
It may be rather lightweight at 14 pounds, but the Nautilus CC can power through grime on vinyl and fiberglass pool walls and floors like nobody’s business.
The sole brush is of Maytronics’ Active variety, meaning it spins twice as fast as a standard brush. Its recessed handle does hassle-free work out of pulling the Nautilus CC from your pool, and dual-track belts prevent slippage.
With this Performance model, you get one layer of filtration. However, you can switch between a fine and an ultra-fine filter. The filter loads into the basket from the top of the robotic pool cleaner, and the basket has a handle for easy removal.
Due to their large size, sizeable debris loads are no issue, and the suction is powerful enough even to lift small pebbles.
A 2-hour cycle time makes the Dolphin Nautilus CC super-quick, and it only takes one button press to start a cycle. If you choose, you can delay the start time from the touchscreen power supply.
With its superior scrubbing and filtering capabilities, you can relax knowing your pool’s floor and walls are left exceptionally clean with the Dolphin Nautilus CC
Other power supply control panel functions include a three-way weekly scheduler and a cleaning mode selector that toggles between a fast and a regular cycle.
Maytronics takes a different approach to cable care than a mechanical cuff. Instead, the Nautilus CC’s floating cable is controlled by anti-tangle software, which is as effective.
The inclusion of CleverClean Technology allows the robot to move in a systematic pattern, covering every square foot of in-ground pools up to 35 feet.
- 60-foot cord
- Ideal for inground pools up to 50 ft
- One-button operation
- 8X more energy efficient than suction and pressure cleaners
- CleverClean technology
- Patented anti-tangle swivel cable
- Dual-scrubbing brushes

#3 Dolphin E10 Pool Cleaner
User-friendly is the best word to describe the Dolphin E10. You can get the robot started in just two steps.
First, drop it into the water. Then, press the power button on the supply box’s touch panel. There are no other buttons, so there is no steep learning curve for the controls.
The E10 is also a fast worker. In a mere 1.5 hours, the robot completes an entire cleaning cycle around a 30-foot above-ground swimming pool.
The E10 Dolphin pool cleaner is ideal for an above ground pool.
The Dolphin E10 can only scrub and suction pool floors, but it’s capable enough to remove thick grime caused by algae and bacteria yet gentle enough not to damage fiberglass or vinyl liners.
Another feature every pool owner will appreciate is the Dolphin E10’s weight. At 13.9 pounds, you won’t struggle when lifting it from the water.
To help you lift it when wet, the robot is affixed with a recessed handle, and it sheds water quickly as you pull it from the pool.
The E10 is designed to clean above ground pools, effortlessly
Inserting and cleaning the filter is as easy as removing the robot from the water. The hinged lid on the top of the E10 conceals a click-on filter basket with a raised handle. To clean the fine-particle filter, all you have to do is rinse it with a water hose.
Dolphin E10 Video
A rapidly spinning brush and a 4,500-gph suction rate allow the track-equipped robot to collect debris per cycle.
Thanks to CleverClean technology, the robot scans and plans while maneuvering around obstacles, making the most of every cycle minute.

#2 Dolphin Triton PS
Fast, efficient, and customizable. In part, the Dolphin Triton PS operates on Maytronics’ PowerStream technology, using water currents to maintain its grip on the walls of in-ground pools. It also exercises lightning-fast decision-making by accounting for obstacles when the robot comes across them along its planned path.
Nothing but clean walls, floors and a waterline will be left after the Triton PS completes a cycle.
The Advanced Dolphin robotic pool cleaner has one standard and one Active rolling brush, so it can easily remove thick buildup.
Due to the inclusion of an active brush will only take 2 hours for your pool to go from dirty to dive-in ready.
Fine particles like dirt and sand won’t bog down the robot. Inside a top-opening compartment, there is a filter basket. The basket also excels at trapping bigger particles, including leaves, extra-large in size.
When the basket becomes covered in debris, lift it out by its tote handle and rinse off the filth.
Built to deliver a deep clean. The Triton PS is powerfully nimble on vertical surfaces for intense wall and waterline scrubbing
Cable knots are the bane of everyone who owns a robotic pool cleaner unless that cleaner is a Dolphin. As with most Dolphins, the 16-pound Triton PS’s cable swivels in a complete circle, making tangles a problem of the past.
Big pools are also a non-issue for the Triton PS. Thanks to a 60-foot-long cable, the robot can maneuver to clean a 50-foot pool from edge to edge and corner to corner.
Maytronics gives you three choices for how often the robot cleans your pool. Via the slim touchscreen power supply, you can set every day, alternating day, or on-each-third-day schedule.
- Good scrubbing power
- Large top-loading filter basket
- Saves 8x energy

#1 Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus
Just push a button and let the Nautilus CC Plus do its thing while you kick back and relax. The power supply’s controls are simple and straightforward.
You can set the robotic pool cleaner to run on one of three schedules, including every day and alternating days. The robot is lightweight, too, at a mere 19 pounds, and its lifting handle makes it easy to pull the Nautilus CC Plus from the water.
Filter maintenance is a user-friendly experience. A panel on top of the robot opens to reveal two types of filters – fine and ultra-fine.
Pull them out, rinse them off and reinsert them. Due to their large size, the Advanced Nautilus CC Plus filters can trap a lot of debris before they need to be cleaned.
This robot is one of Maytronics’ fastest models for in-ground pools to date. No random, nonsensical movements mean that the robot maximizes every cleaning cycle. One cycle only takes 2 hours, even in pools as large as 50 feet.
Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Video
It won’t miss pockets of dirt either, as advanced algorithms leave no part of the swimming pool undetected.
Wherever the Nautilus CC Plus travels, it won’t need your assistance. A rotating cuff on the 60-foot-long cable prevents tangles from occurring.
The Nautilus CC Plus is an Internet-only model, sold exclusively online and is not available in retail stores.

#7 Dolphin Cayman
The Dolphin Cayman is a lightweight, compact-sized dream that’s meant for in-ground pools but still safe enough for above-ground swimming pools.
When dry, the dolphin pool robot only weighs 13.8 pounds. This lightweight and small size make it easy for anyone to manage. The pool robot is an energy-saver, too, thanks to twin 24-volt direct-current motors.
Power supplies are usually boxy, but this isn’t the case with the Cayman Dolphin cleaner. It works with Maytronics’ slimmer, lighter power supplies that have touch buttons instead of digital ones.
Via the power supply, you can start a 2-hour cleaning cycle. You may also automate the robot’s cycles by setting it to run every day, every other day, or every third day.
Since the Cayman is one of the smaller Dolphin Performance models, the filter basket is also proportionally small.
The compact and versatile Dolphin Cayman is perfect for all pool surface types
However, the fine-debris basket is smartly designed as it has a tote handle and loads from the top, not the bottom. The filters click securely into place and easily snap off when you need to clean them.
While the vinyl-safe speedy HyperBrush removes algae and dirt, the HyperGrip tracks help the robot keep its footing on floors and walls. PowerStream technology prevents slippage and the SmartNav 2.0 software scans for obstacles and maps the most efficient route.
A 50-foot cable equipped with an anti-tangle algorithm means the Cayman can reach the entirety of a 40-foot pool without the cable looping itself.

#6 Dolphin Escape
Built for use in above-ground swimming pools, the Dolphin Escape is an all-surface friendly robot. This feature even extends to fiberglass and vinyl.
Due to being an above-ground cleaner, the Escape only cleans pool floors. However, you can still use it to clean an in-ground swimming pool if you wish.
On the robotic pool cleaner, there is a 45-foot-long cable that gives enough slack to manage a 30-foot swimming pool. The robot is incredibly light, weighing a mere 14 pounds when it’s dry.
Of course, the wet weight is heavier, but the protruding grab handle and the fast water discharge rate make it manageable to pull out of the pool.
No bags equal no headaches. Instead of messy disposable bags, the Escape comes with a filtration basket that holds fine debris. The filter basket boasts a large capacity, and you can instantly access it by opening the top-placed hatch.
You’ll appreciate the fast-moving Active rolling brush on the Dolphin Escape. Its powerful motion means it can cut through a thick layer of buildup.
The suction rate is impressive, filtering 4,000 gallons of water every hour. All this power originates from not one but two 24-volt DC motors.
The Dolphin Escape Above Ground Robotic Pool Cleaner scrubs your pool’s floor and filters out debris so your pool is sparkling clean and ready for fun
Each move the Escape takes is intelligent. The robotic pool cleaner has a set of HyperGrip tracks that provide amazing traction to the floor. CleverClean and SmartNav 2.0 allow it to scan and dodge obstacles while staying on course.
The lightweight power supply’s touch button lets you start and stop a 2-hour cycle with just one push.
- HyperBrush Scrubbing Brush
- HyperGrip Rubber Tracks
- SmartNav Robotic Scanning
- Ultra-Efficient 24-volt DC Motors
- Fast Water Release
- Lightweight (14lbs) Ergonomic Design
- Delivers unmatched performance in an above-ground cleaner at an unthinkable cost.

#5 Dolphin Triton PS Plus
PowerStream, CleverClean – The Triton PS Plus from the Deluxe line has all of Maytronics’ latest navigation technology. With the inclusion of PowerStream technology, the Triton PS Plus won’t slip during vertical climbs.
CleverClean technology scans the swimming pool for objects in the Triton PS Plus path. Together, these two features allow the robot to clean your swimming pool’s waterline, walls, and bottom.
High-quality filtration is another one of the Triton PS Plus’ enticing features. The filtration system consists of a basket with a fine filter for leaves and dirt and an ultra-fine filter for sand and algae.
The basket loads from the top, so you don’t have to flip the robot to reach the filtration media. It’s also oversized to boost water circulation.
The Dolphin Triton PS Plus is one of several Dolphin robots with Bluetooth enabled. The addition of Bluetooth means you can install and use the MyDolphin smartphone app to access several features like manual drive, spot clean, and two cleaning speeds.
Weekly scheduling is also available through the app or from the touch-button power supply.
Even though the pool cleaner is designed for large in-ground swimming pools of 50 feet, you won’t have to wait all day for it to rid your pool of debris.
Outsource your pool cleaning duties for good with the Triton PS Plus
There is a standard-speed brush and an Active brush on the robot that moves twice as fast. In regular mode, the cycle time is 2 hours. Fast mode cuts that time in half.

#2 Dolphin Oasis Z5i
The pair of sturdy tracks on the Dolphin Oasis Z5i helps the robot scoot up inclines and roam the floor without getting stuck on the drains.
CleverClean obstacle scanning pinpoints all objects’ precise location in every shape of swimming pools. Thanks to the dual-drive motor system, the Oasis Z5i can fully rotate on an axis, allowing it to clean all corners and along the waterline.
No more tangles. The Oasis Z5i’s cable swivels 360 degrees.
Therefore, the cable won’t loop itself. Since it’s extra-long at 60 feet, the robotic cleaner can easily reach all parts of a 50-foot in-ground swimming pool.
An ergonomic lifting handle and a rapid water-release mechanism make it easy to pull the 24-pound robot from the pool. The handle swings, so you won’t have to contort your arm to reach the filters.
Dolphin Oasis Z5i Video
Speaking of filtration, you get the convenience of simultaneously using both types of Dolphin filters – fine and ultra-fine.
Built to deliver a deep clean, the Dolphin Oasis Z5i is the convenient way to a sparkling pool
These two broad filters are made to be inserted into the top of the robot for quick access. Four robust scrubbing brushes situated side by side in two rows make light work of difficult cleaning jobs.
A single cleaning cycle takes a mere 2.5 hours. You can start and stop a cycle of any type by pressing the power button on the supply box. Automatic daily cleaning and two more preset schedules are other options.

#3 Dolphin Premier
Premier’s Multi-Media filtration system consists of an ultra-fine cartridge and a fine-debris cartridge that load from the bottom in a snap-apart basket.
You also choose to use a disposable debris bag, which comes in handy when leaves scatter the waterline. An LED indicator lets you know when to dump the basket.
As part of Maytronics’ Advanced line, the Premier is suitable for large in-ground swimming pools of 50 feet. CleverClean Technology and Smart Nav help the robotic cleaner look for and avoid obstacles without missing areas.
Two high-torque DC motors keep the robot humming to clean your pool in 3 hours. The 60-foot cable swivels 360 degrees to prevent tangles.
In just 10 minutes, you can set up and use the Premier pool cleaner. You can begin a cleaning session from the power supply box whenever you choose.
The Dolphin Premier robotic pool cleaner scrubs the floor, walls, and waterline and removes unwanted debris
There is also a scheduling function that you can program to automatically clean your swimming pool once a day, on alternating days, or once every three days. The remote is an optional feature that offers from-your-seat control; however, the plug-and-play nature of the Premier makes a remote unnecessary.
With a pair of wide rolling brushes and 4,500-gallons-per-hour of suction strength, there is almost no gunk or debris the Premier can’t lift and remove.
The rolling brushes rotate on tracks, giving the robot a firm grip on the floor, the walls, and along the waterline. Despite their powerful scrubbing, the brushrolls are safe on most surfaces, including fiberglass, gunite, plaster, and vinyl.

Maytronics’ C3 is a commercial-use robotic pool cleaner from the Dolphin’s C-Series line. The C3 robot’s filtration system consists of a 90-micron fine-particle cartridge and a 50-micron ultra-fine cartridge.
Both filters load from the top of the C3 once you push the ergonomic handle out of the way, giving you instant access. An LED indicator illuminates when the filters need to be rinsed.
While the sizeable pop-out filters generate a water flow of 4,500 gallons per hour, the quad-brush system loosens and lifts debris. Their exceptional scrubbing power never falls short whether the C3 is catching leaves along the waterline or sand on the bottom of algae on the walls.
The recessed tracks remain protected from becoming lodged with debris, making the robot more durable than open-track models.
The Dolphin C3 uses CleverClean technology that scans the swimming pool and tells the robot cleaner to avoid obstacles to plan where it will go. The gyroscope turns the C3 in a 360-degree rotation, making the robot cleaner a great choice for curved and angled pools.
With a swiveling mechanism keeping tangles at bay, the 60-foot cable provides enough length for most public and apartment pools.
On the power supply, there aren’t many controls. If you want to use all of the robot’s functions, you’ll need a remote.
The remote lets you select either the 2.5-hour standard mode or the 1-hour quick mode. You can even temporarily set the C3 to hold off temporarily, starting a cleaning cycle.

Dolphin Robotic Pool Cleaner Caddy
Do you need a caddy for your robotic pool cleaner? No, a caddy is not a requirement.
Are you going to want one about two weeks into robot ownership? You bet! A pool cleaner caddy will help you stay organized and keep your robot and power box off the ground.
Remember, pool robots are heavier when wet. A caddy will end the days of lugging the power supply and the robotic cleaner while the cable drags behind you, preventing back strain and cable damage.
One of the best features of the Dolphin caddy is the ability to connect and disconnect the robot from the power supply without removing the power box from its dedicated compartment on the caddy.
This particular robot pool cleaner caddy is compatible with most residential in-ground and above-ground models. It even works with some commercial models, including the ones we’ve reviewed in this guide.
It’s a genuine OEM part straight from Maytronics and not shoddily made by some random third-party manufacturer.
A comfortable grip on the cart-style handle won’t leave your hands blistered and sore. The durable, lightweight frame won’t rust or corrode from water, so you don’t need to wait until the robot is dry to attach it.
The oversized wheels produce a smooth rolling motion on many surfaces. Plus, there is a place to wrap the cable, so you won’t have to untangle a jumbled mess at the opening of pool season.
You will need a screwdriver to put the robot together. At most, assembly takes about 20 minutes.

Dolphin Power Supply
Maytronics provides a power supply box with every Dolphin robotic pool cleaner. Why do you need one if you’re already getting a power supply with your robot?
Power supply boxes tend to wear out faster than their robot mates due to lightning strikes and power surges.
Accidents do happen despite your best efforts, like leaving it out in the rain. Heavy rainfall can wipe out a power supply. While the box is made of heavy-duty plastic, it’s only rated for water splashes on the Ingress Protection scale.
Plus, having an extra on hand even when the original is working will eliminate pool downtime.
This power supply box works with various Dolphin robots, including the Nautilus CC Plus and the H50. It’s a certified OEM part from Maytronics, and it’s an energy-saver at only 180 watts. The power supply is equipped with an integrated heat sink.
As opposed to heavy copper, Maytronics used a lightweight aluminum heat sink. Aluminum also radiates more heat into the air because it’s less dense than copper.
The power supply is easy to lift thanks to its 5-pound weight and contoured handle. The controls are also a breeze to navigate. There are two soft-touch buttons on the box – one for the power and the other for the scheduling function.
Press the scheduling button to toggle between a 3-times, 4-times, and 7-times-per-week schedule. An LED indicator dot light confirms your chosen schedule.
Important note: If your old power supply is broken, set the cord and bracket aside before tossing it. Maytronics no longer includes these parts with replacement power supply boxes.
- Maytronics Power Supply with Timer,
- For Use With Dolphin Interactive, Explorer, Supreme M3, DX3, Endeavor, Atlantis Basic,...
Maytronics opted for rinsable media in all its Dolphin models. Most load from the top, but some are bottom-loading You have the choice between using a fine-debris or an ultra-fine debris filter, and you can interchange them.
Commercial Dolphins, as well as some residential models, offer both levels of filtration in one unit. A debris bag is optional on some Dolphins.
Not at all. Dolphin robots are mostly plug-and-play, and some are controllable via a smartphone app and a remote. Maytronics chose to put a turning mechanism on the cable junction or incorporate anti-tangling software on most models, so the cable can swivel.
This means the chances of the cable tangling are slim to none. Plus, the housing is designed to expel water the moment you pull the robot from the swimming pool, making the robot cleaner lightweight enough for anyone to handle.
While the Dolphins’ strong tracks provide an outstanding grip on pool floors and walls, PowerStream mobility takes it a step further. Utilizing streams of water in varying directions, the robots are able to achieve a better grip during vertical climbs.
Some robotic pool cleaners are smarter than others. Maytronics integrated CleverClean Technology into every Dolphin cleaner for navigation enhancement.
With CleverClean, the robots move purposefully, scanning the swimming pool for obstacles and planning a route to circumvent those obstacles. The end result is the most coverage in the least amount of time.
As you probably know, the rolling brushes on a Dolphin pool cleaner remove algae and scum buildup. Dolphin robots use a technology called Active Brushing to make this task more efficient.
This technology rotates the brushes faster than the rotational rate of other models’ brushes, helping the Dolphins clean faster.
Three hours is the average cleaning time. However, the working time required to clean your pool depends on the swimming pool’s size and debris volume.
Every Maytronics’ Dolphin robot cleaners are equipped with all or a combination of Active Brushing, CleverClean Technology and PowerStream Mobility, all of which make the robots clean quickly and efficiently (see the following three FAQs for more info).
Compared to pressure-side and suction pool cleaners, Dolphin robotic cleaners are far more energy-efficient because they don’t need a booster or a pump for power.
In an average month, the increase in your electricity bill will be negligible. We’re talking about only 5 bucks a month.
You can use a Dolphin robot in a saltwater-based or a chlorine-based swimming pool. If you have a saltwater pool, these robots can tolerate a maximum salt level of 5,000 parts per million.
Definitely! Maytronics builds its Dolphin pool cleaners to last for years. Most people get 5 to 7 years of useful, headache-free life from their robot. With proper maintenance, a Dolphin can last twice as long.
Most Dolphins are warrantied for 2 or 3 years, and their warranty coverage includes parts and labor.
Commercial robotic pool cleaners are designed to cater to the demands of expansive and heavily used swimming pools. Their cables are longer than those on residential versions, and they’re usually able to climb higher.
The filtration system on a commercial robot can handle a lot of debris, and the navigation system makes tight, on-a-dime turns.
Although there are some in-ground models that are safe to use in above-ground swimming pools, the ones meant for above-ground pools have a few discernible differences. Their brushes are softer to prevent damage to the liner.
Since above-ground pools tend to be smaller and shallower than in-ground pools, above-ground models usually have a shorter cable and smaller filter.
Maytronics offers Dolphin robotic cleaners for all types of swimming pools. There are several in-ground Dolphin lines, including the hyper-intelligent Deluxe, the large-pool Advanced and the small-pool Performance.
Maytronics also offers a Performance line for above-ground pools and a few Dolphin ranges for commercial use.
