355-Square-Foot Cleaning Range

Before you even think of picking up the Airthereal APH260, you need to know whether it’s the right fit for your bedroom, living room, hobby room, etc. The APH260 has a maximum optimal cleaning range of 355 square feet.

It can provide as many as four air changes per hour in that much space, which is more than good enough to get rid of common allergens from the air.

CADR Rated at Over 150 CFM

While it’s nice knowing how large of a room the APH260 can clean, how well does it purify the air? According to Airthereal, the APH260 scored 152 CMF across the board (dust, smoke, and pollen).

Essentially, its performance ratings are above average when compared to other similarly sized air purifiers.

5-Level Purification

And how does the APH260 get the air so clean? Simple: it comes with more filters than most. The APH260 has five-stage filtration that consists of a pre-filter, an activated carbon filter, and a True HEPA Filter. The HEPA filter removes up to 99.97% of 0.3-micron particles in the air.

After the initial three stages, there are two optional filters—a UV-C “kill chamber” that deconstructs bacteria and viruses at a molecular level, and an ionizer to positively charge airborne particles, so they adhere to the filters more easily.

Smart Air Quality Sensor

The APH260 comes with a smart air quality sensor that constantly measures pollution concentration levels in a room.

When pollution levels reach a certain threshold, the APH260 will automatically turn on and activate the most appropriate fan speed to eradicate as many airborne particles while using as little power as possible. This air purifier really is a set-it-and-forget-it type of device.

Disturb-Free Nights on Sleep Mode

If you keep your APH260 in the bedroom, you’ll be glad to know that it comes with a Sleep Mode. This mode locks it on the lowest fan speed, thereby producing the least amount of noise and dimming all the lights. You can program the device to run for up to 12 hours in sleep mode.

Air Filter Indicators

It’s crucial that you replace the filters on time since not doing so can actually reintroduce mold into the air. The APH260 has a filter replacement indicator that turns on when the activated carbon filter and HEPA filter reach the end of their lifespans.

While Airthereal claims that the filters can last for up to six months, you should rely on the filter indicator as a guide to know when you need to purchase fresh ones.

Verdict: A Full-Feature, Far-Range, Low-Cost Air Purifier

Considering what the Airthereal APH260 comes with, the most surprising thing about the air purifier is its affordable price tag.

As Airthereal’s flagship model, they really packed it with as many features as possible, but it also costs a fraction of comparable models by other brands.

Air Recommended Air Purifiers

Our Pick Perfect for bedrooms, playrooms, and living rooms, the Coway Airmega AP-1512HH is one of the best-performing, most durable, and most economical purifiers we’ve tested.

Most Popular The Levoit Core 300 air purifier has some strong suits, but in our opinion it falls short of carving out a meaningful niche for itself. Its ideal use would be in a small bedroom occupied by someone who is sensitive to noise.

Also Great With high end air cleaning performance and a whisper quiet fan, the Winix 5500-2 is the perfect combination of power and finesse. It cleared airborne particulates out of our smokey testing room faster than any other model.

Best of the Best If you have a large space you want to remove irritants from, We recommend the Airmega 400S. All of Coway air purifiers do an excellent job of attacking indoor pollutants, and we highly recommend any of them. The 400S is designed to accommodate large room sizes.
