And that’s beastly enough to suck fine particles like dust, hair, bacteria and larger debris with ease. The cleaning efficiency of this model is further emphasized by two main rotating-brush attachments which dislodge and direct junk that is deeply embedded into carpets.

Battery performance and charging

It’s impressive that Dyson has managed to increase the battery life and performance along with the suction power. If the old model, the Dyson V8, could only go for about 40 minutes on average, the V10 can hold on for about an hour when using a non-motorized tool – enough to clean up to 1600 square feet in one go. This could drop to 20 minutes with some motorized attachments and around 10 minutes when used in a maximum suction setting.
Cordless stick vacuum cleaners are often criticized for taking too much time to charge. Well, with the Dyson V10, this is relative. It only takes about 3.5 hours from empty to full.
Proscenic P9
The P9 is powered by a 2600mA Li-Ion battery which can support up to 42 minutes of fade-free suction on the low-speed mode. This can drop to 25 minutes on its highest setting – still enough to clean a whole flat or house.
Charging time can take up to four hours. The machine comes with handy wall mounts, making sure it is always ready for the next cleaning mission. It must be noted, however, that the battery life indication is a bit weird. It has three led lights that let you know when the battery is empty, charging or fully charged. Unfortunately, seeing the remaining life of the battery is not possible in this model.
Verdict: Dyson wins this one. The V10 comes with huge battery life improvements. It can provide fade-free suction for up to an hour if used in a lower setting. This is much more – around 20 minutes – than what the Proscenic P9 can deliver. Otherwise, both models take approximately 3.5-4 hours to recharge fully.
Versatility and filtration system

The cleaner comes with an efficient direct-drive cleaner head. It is a brush that rotates, getting deep into carpets to dislodge dirt and hairs before they are sucked in. A crevice tool is additionally supplied for better cleaning of crannies and nooks. The cleaner is also designed with a center of gravity that makes it easy to clean high-up and hard-to-reach places.
The dustbin can be quickly emptied out without contact with the dirt by merely pushing a button. Changing or washing the HEPA filter is also a less-than-a-minute job.

The V9 can be easily transformed into a handheld, slim and portable device for quick and easy cleans of car upholstery, gaps, and corners or any other tight space. Provided with one motorized mini tool for deep cleaning of furniture and tables. Additionally, there are two types of crevice tools for nook and cranny cleaning and a soft dusting brush for picking off the dust from shades and curtains.
Emptying the dustbin is contactless and easy. It can be quickly taken off, washed and reused.
