Overview of the models

Vapamore MR-100
This relatively small unit uses clean water, no chemicals, to blast away the dirt, grime, and stains to kill dust mites, mold, mildew, and germs. It vows to put an end to a messy and unhealthy environment in your kitchen, garage, toilet, showers, sinks, and upholstery. It can be used outside as well as inside.

McCulloch MC1385
McCulloch promises and delivers unique design, reliability, and value. It is equally good at dealing with tough cleaning jobs outside—in your garden or garage—or inside, with kitchen appliances, bathrooms and stained textile furniture. All this is done without chemicals. Just pour clean water into the tank and gift back the shiny ‘new’ look to your belongings.

Versatility

Vapamore MR-100
The Vapamore comes with an assortment of attachments which allow you to cover your entire home. For example, its triangle attachment tool fits perfectly into corners while the small-sized brushes are ideal for cleaning grills, pet cages or the dirtied-up grout in the bathroom.

There is also an additional mid-sized tool, specially designed for removing bacteria and bedbugs from mattresses, computer chairs, and sofas. The handheld option eliminates any hassle of moving heavy stuff around and brings the steam to them.

McCulloch MC1385
McCulloch brags with an assortment of over 20 attachment tools, which allows you to tackle pretty much anything at home. For example, you can use the central floor mop attachment to sanitize many types of hard floor such as wood, tile, and laminate. Also, you have accessories designated for cleaning hob grills, BBQ grills, different kinds of fabrics and even windows and mirrors.

Verdict: Both steam cleaners are highly versatile due to some accompanying attachments. The McCulloch MC1385 steam cleaner offers more variety, but the Vapamore holds an advantage of being smaller in size. Meaning the MC1385 is easier to store and is more mobile.

The steaming process and water tank

Vapamore MR-100
This model is equipped with a 1.6-liter stainless steel boiler which allows for up to 60 minutes of operation per refill. You have the option to adjust the steam flow via a rotatable button at the front of the machine.

The water is first heated inside the tank by a 1500-Watt water heater. When you push the button, the steam is pushed out with even pressure. When you release it, the steam retracts back to the canister. This is helpful for extending the running time of the machine and saving electricity.

McCulloch MC1385
The McCulloch MC1385 has a large 64-ounce water tank allowing for over 120 minutes of running time. You can once again decide what the strength of the steam flow is by manipulating a rotatable button at the front of the machine.

The water is heated by a 1500-Watt heater, and the produced steam is pushed out at 4 bars of pressure. This is more than enough to blast away persistent stains and dirt from most types of surfaces. Furthermore, the temperature of the steam is well over 200 degrees Fahrenheit – more than enough to kill harmful living organisms such as bedbugs, bacteria, and viruses.

Verdict: Both steam cleaners are fitted with larger-than-usual water tanks. The McCulloch comes out on top, however, as it allows for a running time of up to 120 minutes – that’s twice as much as the Vapamore. In both devices, the steam is released upon pressing the handle button. Upon releasing the button, the steam retreats into the canister, saving the water for when it’s needed.

Additional features

Vapamore MR-100
Overall, this model is easy to move around, and it has been installed with a comfortable handle at the top of it for extra comfort. It also has a storage compartment which ensures that you don’t lose the smaller attachments. Checking the water level works in the same way as in automobiles – there is a stick attached to the water tank cap which shows you the level.

The machine is provided with an extra-long, retractable power for extra convenience.

McCulloch MC1385
The McCulloch MC1385 has an 18-foot power cord, which has a designated cord wrap. And while this is good, a retractable option would’ve been better. It also comes with an easy to use portable handle and a pressure bar indicator. Unfortunately, there is no designated storage compartment for all the small to mid-size attachments.

Verdict: The Vapamore takes this one. It has a handy storage compartment for all the small attachments, and it comes with a retractable power cord. Checking the water level is pretty straightforward with both machines.
