Filters in Four Ways
Fellowes knows that when it comes to healthy indoor air, a single filter doesn’t equate to premium performance. Therefore, the manufacturer created a four-step process to filter and clean the air in your home. During this process, almost all of the allergens, bacteria, viruses, and mold floating in the air are isolated and trapped within the AeraMax 100, 200 and 300’s filtration system, so they don’t reenter the room.
At the heart of this four-stage filtration system, there is a true-HEPA filter. Unlike HEPA-style or HEPA-type filters that only trap 80 to 90 percent of airborne contaminants, a true-HEPA filter captures 99.97 percent of allergens as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, ragweed, mold spores and dust mites.
The second stage is wrapped into the HEPA filter. To boost its efficiency and maintain its integrity, Fellowes coated the HEPA filter in an antimicrobial material called AeraSafe. Choose a Fan Speed
Take advantage of the air purifiers’ auto mode or take control of the fan in manual mode – the choice is yours. The AeraMax 100, 200 and 300 are equipped with an AeraSmart sensor, which determines the air quality and selects the best fan speed to combat the number of pollutants in the air. These air purifiers also have the Aera+ feature, which bumps the fan to its highest speed.

Control With Just a Touch
Sleek and modern are the two words that embody the control panel on the AeraMax 100, 200 and 300. This LED touchscreen has a bevy of logically illustrated buttons and labeled indicators. For example, the air quality sensor’s results are displayed in a color-coded form via the circular indicator at the top of the control panel. This indicator glows red for heavily contaminated air, orange for moderately contaminated air and green for healthy air.
From the control panel, you can change the fan speed, and the leveled indicator will confirm your selection. If you prefer to turn off the PlasmaTrue ion field, simply press the corresponding button. The only function that isn’t on the panel is the power button. This rocker switch is located on the backside of each air purifier. Once you flip that switch, it only takes four minutes for the sensor to measure the surrounding air’s quality.
Maintenance That’s Easy
Both the true-HEPA filter and the carbon filter last for a long time, which is great news for your wallet. You only need to replace the HEPA filter once per year and the carbon filter once every 3 months. When either filter becomes worn out, an indicator light on the control panel will illuminate, saving you the hassle of marking your calendar to keep up with a maintenance schedule.
Although the filter-replacement procedure for the AeraMax 100 differs slightly from the AeraMax 200 and 300, each way is easy. With the 100, press the push tab to remove the back panel and access the filters. With the 200 and Aeramax 300, pull out the drawer on the side. Then, exchange filters and push the 100’s panel back or the 200 and 300’s drawer back into place.
If you forget to turn off the air purifier before you change the filters, the purifiers’ auto-shutoff mechanism will engage as soon as you remove the old ones, and the unit will power down. Once the new filters are inserted, the air purifiers will turn on by themselves. Since they remember all of your last chosen settings, you won’t have to make any adjustments.
