We will help you assemble your Bissell CrossWave so you can experience its unique cleaning power. Start by sliding the handle into the body until it clicks. Fill your clean water tank with the desired amount of water. Slide the tank into the back of your machine until you hear a click. To start the machine, plug it in then choose either the hard floor or rug setting. Recline your machine and the brush roll will start spinning.

Then fill it to the first formula fill line with Cleaning Formula. This should cover areas up to 300 square feet. For a large area cleaning fill the tank up to the second water fill line. Then fill it to the second formula fill line with Cleaning Formula.
This should cover areas up to 700 square feet. Replace the cap and the tank by aligning it with the grooves and slide it back into place until you hear a click. Your CrossWave is now filled and ready to clean.
Cleaning Area Rugs

Before you begin cleaning your area rug, be sure that the brush rolls are free of mud or sticky masses. Easy Clean Storage Tray
The Easy Clean Storage Tray helps you both clean and store your CrossWave. To clean your machine you have to place it onto the storage tray. Pour water into the storage tray, filling up to the line showing the maximum amount of water allowed.
Turn on your machine by pressing the hard floor button. Recline your machine backwards while in the storage tray. Let the machine run for 10 to 15 seconds until all the water is picked up.
Then unplug the cord from the outlet. If any moisture is left over in the tray from cleaning you have to wipe it dry with a towel. Empty the dirty water into the sink and remove the brush roll window by grabbing the front and pulling up.
Pull out the brush roll by grabbing the tab and pulling up. Put the brush roll upright onto the brush roll drying tray to let it dry. Your CrossWave is now clean and ready to use again.
Emptying the Dirty Water Tank
After cleaning your BISSELL Crosswave you should always empty and clean the dirty water tank. To remove the tank you have to grab the handle in front of the dirty water tank and press down on the release button. Grasp the top of the tank and pull up to remove it. Empty the dirty water into a sink and then rinse your tank.
Remove the filter from the top of the tank by pulling up. Hand wash the filter and screen using warm water. Then rinse the float. If the inside area where the dirty water tank sits is dirty you have to wipe it clean with a rag or towel.
Leave the parts out to dry before reassembling. Once dry, place the vacuum filter back into the dirty water tank top. Then replace the top of the dirty water tank. Insert the bottom first at an angle and push into place until you hear a click. Your dirty water tank is now empty and clean.
Cleaning the Brush Roll & Chamber
After cleaning with your CrossWave it is recommended you clean the product thoroughly. Including the removable brush roll, the easy remove brush window and the brush chamber.
Make sure your machine is unplugged from an outlet and grab the front of the brush roll window and pull upward to remove it. Remove the brush roll by grabbing the brush roll tab and pulling up. To clean both the brush roll and brush roll window you have to rinse each under warm water.
The brush roll chamber can get dirty too. Make sure to wipe it with a paper towel or cloth to clean. Let your brush roll and brush roll window dry before you reassemble them. Once dry, place the brush roll back into your machine by inserting the brush roll end into the right side of the foot.
The brush roll window can now be replaced by lining up the tabs on the edges of the foot. Push the brush roll window back into place until you hear a click. Now you can get back to cleaning.
Brush Roll not Working
Your CrossWave brush may have stopped working in the middle of your cleaning. It is likely that there is an obstruction. Don’t worry, we are here to help. Unplug your machine to reset the brush. While unplugged, remove the brush window and brush roll from your machine by pulling the tab.
Take out the obstruction that was causing the machine to stop working. Once the obstruction is removed you may reassemble the brush roll and brush window. Now your CrossWave is free of any obstruction you may resume cleaning again.
CrossWave is Hard to Push
When using the CrossWave it may appear hard to push. We hope the following tips help make it easier. First make sure the water and formula tank is full. Select the proper spray setting for the type of flooring you are cleaning.
The rug button will put down more water than the hard floor button. If you transition to a rug, the thicker it is the more difficult it may be to push. These few tips should help you push there any mass you encounter on your bare floor or area rugs.
CrossWave Loss of Suction
Your CrossWave may have lost suction in the middle of cleaning. Don’t worry, the following tips will help. Unplug and check to see if your clean tank is seated properly. Also remove the dirty water tank and make sure there are no clogs in the hose below it. Move the filter and clean both the screen and filter of any buildup or debris and empty the tank before replacing it.
Check for any buildup or clogs in the area leading up to the tank and remove it. Check the brush for any buildup of hair or string and replace by putting the right side in first and lock the left side in by pushing downward.
Lastly secure the brush window by inserting the tabs on the front and pressing into place until you hear a click. Now your CrossWave is free of any obstruction you may resume cleaning again.
Bissell CrossWave No Power
Your BISSELL Crosswave may not be turning on. Don’t worry, HouseHoldMe is here to help. Note that your CrossWave will only start suctioning when either the rug or hard floor setting is selected. The brush begins when it’s reclined and spray begins when the trigger is pushed.
